  • Interesting! Your garden could do with a clean, if I lived near by I'd help you out! I'm going to grow a few veggies next year now my garden's been cleared. Made some vids of it, have a look if you like. The last 'alien' thing may be a type of pea? They look a little like Cucumbers too! Btw, you can buy a soloution to keep cats away. :)

  • Its not dirty, just "rustic". Well, its near the end of the season anyway, we just let the weeds grow in because they weren't producing much veggies anyway.

I'd rather use something natural for the cats :) I've had a few suggestions that I might try.

  • I never said it was dirty! ;). Regarding the cats, you can always cat-proof your garden. Have a fence 6/7ft tall with rubber spikes on the top all round the perimitor. Also block holes in or under fences you can fit your fist through.

I just posted to the wrong person! Sorry! haha

  • LOL at you hating the cats leaving their surprises! haha awesome garden!

  • Stray cats are yucky and selfish. They are different from cuddly house cats. House cats are selfish too, but at least they are nice.

  • NICE! my garden mostly has persimmons, grapes and guavas.

  • Cool! So many fruits!

  • Hey! I love the tour. Nice to see you are very self sufficient with vegetables. Nice to grow you own and appreciate it. I wish I had a garden like that. Our garden is pretty much just a patio. We get no sun in Manchester so I'm not sure I could grow much! :)

  • Aw... that's tough, but there are plants that do well in the shade. :)

  • Very nice tour of your garden. I did not know cats were fond of gardens and herb areas, that is kinda scary.

  • I know! Cats are so weird. I wouldn't mind them passing by... but they were actually living in the herbs :( gross!

  • impressive.. wish i had a garden..

  • nice urban garden, leafy greens like cabbage and chard are great to grow, and help with IBD.

many ways to keep cats out, I recall these working:

plant citrus tree or scatter citrus peels now and then, plant lavender, sprinkle black/chili pepper around, other cat repellent plants geraniums, marigolds and petunias, garlic?

  • Cool! I like the natural repellent! I might try the citrus thing. I love the lavender idea too (this is one of my all time favorite scents). I'm surprised that they hang out in the herb garden so much. I wouldn't think they'd want to be around such fragrant plants.
