  • if i have a white frame that i want to paint a different color, do i still have to sand it and stuff or can i just paint right over it

  • hey guys.. how long the painting process take times? please response :)

  • @dvnsm14 like 5-6 days

  • Where did u buy ur fixie?

  • what tools did u use to remove the original color of the bike?? plz reply back cause i wanna paint my fixie

  • bottom bracket use : flat head & hammer.

  • why are your shirt sleeves so tight??

  • Hey guys, what's the bike looking like now? As far as the paint job, is it holding up pretty well? Just curious to know if it the paintjob still looks nice.

  • @Xcokedav096 Yeah. It's actually doing surprisingly well. Been out in rain and stuff and that doesn't affect it. Just a few chips of paint missing where I attach the lock, and some from when my roommate wrecked riding it. Jackass

  • i need someone to comment on this as soon as possible whats the point of a fixie bike someone give me a idea

  • ' i hope that erm. argh fuck it, ride fixie! ' Great comment.

  • This is such a great video - it's nice to see a "we-can't-take-the-bottom-bracket-so-oh-well" approach, rather than the usual "YOU MUST DO THIS PERFECTLY OR YOU WILL DIE"

  • when using paint striper do you have to sand fully or do you just spray on

  • @shadowfixed101 just spray it. I only sanded cuz i didnt think the stripper would would.

  • youve inspired me. these videos were awesome. im gonna hit up the thrift store for an old bike as soon as i can.

  • BACK IN HD

  • Can some risers on that

  • u guys got a higher quality video xD

  • Use the same paint stripper with no gloves or mask, aha. But why sand the frame if you have stripper?

  • DUDE I have that same frame o.O lol I have hearts too lmao xD

  • gosh that bike looks so good! great work. i'm currently repainting my frame. hope mine turns out as good as yours.

  • ya for stripers !!!

  • What was your total cost roughly?

  • dang that paint stripper really did the trick..?!! :O

  • dude1-"have you ever built a fixie..?

    dude2"uhhh yeah..

    dude1"have you ever built a fixie...ON WEED..?? o.O

  • Dude, I know it's been like a year since you made this video. Are you still riding bikes? What kind of bike do you have now?

  • Only difference is that I'll just be doing a quick sand before priming/painting, not removing *all* the old paint underneath.

  • You did a pretty awesome job, couple of splotches but nothing major went wrong =D Definitely inspirational for when I do mine in a couple of weeks.

  • what kind of camera do you use??

  • good bruh you kinda got me motivated to restore a old fixie frame good job !!

  • i think you should change the handle bars into a straight bar its the look for fixies, go to a near by fixie store and go to the handle bar section but any case it is a cool bike

  • haha dude that was hella sick. is the paint sticky at all?

  • what is that brush thing?

  • Great series! I'm right in the middle of the process on my old Miyata. Someone else asked, and I'm curious as well, what camera are you using?

  • Freaking awesome re-modification!

  • how much weed did you guys smokeduring this?

  • Brilliant videos. Cheers.

  • Dixie with a brake?

  • How long did it take from start to finish to paint (in hours approximately)?

  • im trying to paint my bike and i was wondering if i can remove the original paint of the bike by using paint stripper?

  • you guy might want to get a small soda blaster/sand blaster for project then you won't have to use paint strippers

  • what kind of camera

  • yo these were good videos. really enjoyed watching.

  • great job on the bike maybe some better handle bars and some 700 rims and youll be good to go but good job...fixie riding lives haha:)

  • very nice video's.. very nice to see the improvement in your bike knowledge as the videos progressed.. its amazing how much you learn by the hands on method..

    very nice bike :)

hope you guys are enjoying it

  • whats the gear ratio in the bike???

  • @argmax11 uh, i cant remember. i think i say it sometime in part 2 of these 3 videos.

  • If you use paint thinner, do you still have to sand?

  • @elijahdaduke You don't have to sand, but the paint will stick better to a rough surface (sanded surface).

  • what kind of camera are you using??

  • Looks like a pumpkin!

  • What Gears do you run? Nice job too!

  • Where did you get the paint stripper?

  • @jaetwone homdepot

  • This whole series, especially the first, really made me smile.

It's great to see someone else who takes the "figure it out as you go" approach and make the exact kind of mistakes and using the same bodging methods I would use and getting a good result.

    Brilliant video, great to watch.

    Thanks.

  • @thirteenfingers Thanks a lot. :)

  • u don't really need to sand it all the way, u just sand it till it's smooth.

  • Is that a Raleigh bike?

  • @BoomToThePowerofBoom no it a volkscycle

  • are you going to get a single speed crank for it?

  • it reminds me of nickelodeon slime colors

  • it looked sick with the orange but with the green it made it look like u put masking tape on it and just like the previous color was green and u missed spots

  • u guys are pussys use sandpaper like real men XD

  • Thank you! Do you know the size of the handlebars?

  • throw the dube hahaha

  • you guys are great haha :) honestly i learned alot and im planning to restore bikes as a hobby

  • Do you know what size the is? Is it a 1 1/8?

  • @EG6kidd It's more than likely a flat 1, that's how most road frames are made.

  • how long did it take you to put it back together

  • what kind of primer did you use?

  • @msjessica rustoleum. For clean metal

  • You need bartape on your handlebars.... rofl what a dumbass

  • @thebadlongboarder Ha ur an idiot. U don't need anything. Friends of my race bikes with to tape or grips for weight reasons.

  • @KJansen00 Its must be not comfy.... btw where can i find paint stripper?

  • @thebadlongboarder homedepot lowes etc

  • I didn't scroll down to see if someone answered this....you need a bottom bracket tool, it's usually reverse threaded on the drive side.

  • Awsome!!!! Thanks!

  • I like your choice in colour :).

I'll be doing something similar now... =D

  • the fixie that u made was tight but then when u sprayed it u just fuck it over what the fucc u were u thinking what a dumb ass wtf u dumb ass fucc dammmmmm man and guest what it was ugly asss fucc man take my addvice dont ever touch a fixie again and change tthe color bitch fuccc dumb bitch

  • @3nRiQuE51 Hey man thanks a lot for your opinion!

  • @3nRiQuE51 It wasn't a fixie to begin with.

  • @3nRiQuE51 you are honestly an idiot

  • @lilgrungey oh is he????

  • Dude how do u tighten the handle bar tube to the fork I NEED HELP PLZz

  • @MrIsmael1993 It depends on the bike mine has a bolt to tighten right in the middle of the handle bars

  • @ArodProduction Mine too it's the same ass yours mine has a bolt too but idk how to tighten it

  • @MrIsmael1993 did you try turning it to the right?

  • @jacobification1 i purchased that same kind and it did nothing i have a fixie now just gotta get use to riding it.

  • Nice walk through... I have an old ten speed i have been wanting to do this with...

  • Lawl, Gave me inspiration, gon try it lolol

  • That orange is teh bomb man. I would swap the green with some kind of yellow tho. Nice job anyway! Now go and ride the damn thing :)

  • Nice build just wondering where you picked the Paint stripper up cause i bout one today and it did nothing. What store did you buy it from or brand name what ever is easier. thanks

  • @BambooB5 home depot and i dunno the brand.

  • dude you guys are wasssted...rippin bong hits

  • Comment removed

  • if i have a purple wheel and i want to paint it black. could i just apply primer and then spray it black? or will it not work because i never did anything to the purple underneath?

  • @FutureArchitect1 I would color the bike to match with some purple wheels. But to answer your question im pretty sure if you use primer it'll cover the color underneath pretty well.

  • Man I like this project man good job with the green accents, even though they're a little bit choppy haha. But great job overall, hopefully I can do this some day (;

  • I would have liked to see the bike in white, but it still looks unique in your colours lol, good job, it would be nice to see you guys do another bike project

  • great videos.

  • nice videos.. reminds me of me a year and a half ago when converting a bike to fixed gear knowing nothing about bike parts to start with.. its fun learning as you go. just got mine painted about to put it together again. wish i thought about recording my whole process haha.. nice hd quality too.

  • you looked pretty high

    haha just sayin

  • bought a fixie which has white and black wheels, wondered if i would be able to paint the white part orange?

  • @AlexHolme20 i don't see why not

  • nice project, workin on my own fixed right now. nice to see the whole process you've been going through. only thing you need to do is put you're seat up higher, looks better overal!

  • wtf is primer ?do you need to sand or is paint stripper enough? and any specific tools required to take the bike apart?

  • @205blahblah the paint stripper is enough. Primer is a base coat to prep the bike for paint. Not unless your taking the cranks off you wont need specific tools.

  • Really nice project man, I'm about to start mine this weekend.

  • @jadedforlyfe sweet man good luck.

  • what camera dud you use the quality seems pretty niceee

  • @evanoc12345678 canon dslr

  • yeah and a clear coat gloss

  • was that just regular spray paint?

  • how did you take the crankset off

  • @BloodBath707 I have cottered cranks, so unless you have them too how I took them off will be irrelevant. I don't know how to get other cranks off sorry.

  • what camera are you using?

  • good job, did you buy a flip flop hub?

  • you should find tires with that same lime green color! :D

  • @ubernasch416 thats a good idea. I've been searching online for some cant find any 27" for a good price. Anyone have any sites I could look at?

  • @ArodProduction It's really hard to say what site there would be for such a specific wheelsize and color. Is it 27x 1. 1/4?

  • @ubernasch416 yep

  • @ArodProduction at bcity.es they are from Barcelona (Spain). I'm buiding my fixie and they have cheap tires and parts

  • curious but what camera u guys use?

  • well done lads men after my own heart

  • how many of each can do u need?(i mean the primer and [paint

  • Yes Just Yes

  • The green accents are ugly, rest is nice.

  • guys, you two are great! you seem to be really friendly and your series are very entertaining. Thanks a lot for all of it.

  • you gotta wait a few days before you clear coat. Spray paint/ enamel has to cure. Also I would build the paint up in much thinner coats. that's how you prevent chipping.

  • o ya "the party's here " hahaha

  • good work guys. i'm going to build my own fixie too. this weekend i'll start with the paint. i had to throw away the old wheels and crank, so i'm afraid i'm going to spend more money than in a new bike...

i learnt a lot of you.

  • Goo pitt lol

  • fix the bars and bring them not just a little and the seat but everything is all good bro

  • nice pic at the end, 50mm 1.8f?

  • How many cans of primer and how many of paint did you use for the whole frame?

  • @Interpol689 Yes

  • hey man wat did u do about the headset?

  • @kamalufung07 What do you mean what did I do?

  • @ArodProduction like the headset cups did u just put tape on them? and i got the same stripper and i dont know why but it looks nothing like your product. same kind of stripper but different results.

  • @kamalufung07 Yeah I just taped them over. How long did you let the paint stripper set. It takes a while to start working.

  • @ArodProduction oh ok yeah not that long maybe like 10 min ok and wat did u use to scrap the joints?

  • To get the bottom bracket out you need a special tool called C spanner, and the lock ring needs to be either loosened or taken off. Sweet videos, really helpful. Also, next time you paint, the paint goes on smoother if you do strokes one way and do realllllly reallllly thin coats, and a lot of them. I like the finished product!

  • Looke pretty legit for spray paint :)

  • cool beans man even though u didnt know what u were doing at first. you caught on fas it was deff a good how to vid now people dont have to make the same mistakes u did thanks to u.

  • ha ha i can see you got a new camera lol

  • take the brake off. if your going to ride fixed, you gotta do it right.

  • i like it.well done.

  • how did you guys take out the crank arms and set?

  • what brand is that paint striper?

  • How much did you spend on the frame and how much on the wheel with the fixed cog?

  • fuck it ride fixies very well put

  • I wasn't reading many comments before, but have you made toe clips on pedals ?

  • @monstertrucklt

    hoods?

  • @Madzellas hm I think no. I was talking about things that keep feet on pedals while cycling fast or skidding

  • @arodproductions nahhh man! Just leave it like that n accept the uglyness :D

  • the seat is ugly

  • @mariarts want to buy me a new one?

  • @extopeador yeah i ended up using paint stripper on the whole bike. A coat of primer

a coat and a half of paint. and two coats of clear coat. YES USE CLEAR COAT its the only way to make the spray paint actually look good.

  • Get a better color dude

  • Looks like you had real fun doing this project. Props to you. Taking stuff apart to see how it works is the best.

  • nice video dude im barely gonna start rideing my road bike umm how much was the rim??

  • You got a candy corn bike. Get a better color scheme, but good work. props for the Drop downs. There is really no need for the front breaks. its suppose to be skid or skipping . the fork is nice but it depends if you just cruise or trick.

  • @KyleeeeeEspiritu Yeah I only really used the front break untill I felt comfortable on the bike.

  • Not the best colour scheme in the world but i enjoyed watching all 3 parts :)

  • great vid man. quick question. for the rims is it possible to paint it as well as the hadle bars?

  • @yellowdoghnut45 i don't see any problem with painting the rims ass long as you're not using breaks. It's up to you man

  • very nicely done man, kudos to your sweet fixie, ill be building mine soon. cheers, and thanks for a great vid. alohaz from hawaii.

  • too make it look better, get some deep v's

  • You Guys have Inspired me :) I Kept Get Confused At the Start Like You Guys But Came Out With A Good Result Cheers For The Help :)

  • fuck it, ride fixie
