This film should get exclusive perfect new telecine that mirrors the films aspect ratio 100%! Also colour balance that mirrors the film without any common artefacts that have cropped up on some bluray tiles! No EE and no DNR keep the film grainy and preserved to the original.
Also DOLBY TrueHD seeing the film was mixed and released in DOLBY STEREO type A on 70mm 6trcak magnetic I believe in perseveration of film not altering it keep it true keep it DOLBY TRUE HD!
@EmpireLS56KW That would have failed miserably, unfortunately. The lift ability of the lifeboats would have been tiny compared to the weight of a flooded ship -- and such a plan would have clearly made the lifeboats useless for saving people. It took the Carpathia until almost two hours after the sinking to arrive, so any plan to keep the Titanic floating would have required it lasting not just that long, but also hours more to get everyone off.
@Ranillon It was so unfortunate and tragic and why we newer generation talk about today because we have a fascinations with this grand ole lady that once cruised oceans only not long enough.
Also audio commentary with cast and technical crew members and isolated John Barry DOLBY DIGITAL 6channel showcasing the wonderful score in discrete. Plus unsinkable extras for hours and hours and hours!
What difference would it make there was barely enough lifeboats on the TITANIC to save everyone! So why not use them to try and hold the front up just a bit longer. Its better than freezing to death in the North Atlantic Ocean!
@EmpireLS56KW itanic carried 20 lifeboats, enough for 1178 people. The existing Board of Trade required a passenger ship to provide lifeboat capacity for 1060 people. Titanic's lifeboats were situated on the top deck. The boat was designed to carry 32 lifeboats but this number was reduced to 20 because it was felt that the deck would be too cluttered.
The titanic is far to degraded to be risen and I understand what father Flanigan is saying I disagree with it, I think the area is a sort of sanctuary as a remembrance to not only the dead but to the living to remind us of our faults, It gives us something to look at and think what could be done to prevent anything bad happening again
@WeskersDaughter What possible means on hand if a plan was hammered out within 30 minutes to seal up the damaged hull on the starboard. How many feet below her keel to reach the damage with rope tired around crewmen and stuffing the hole up with pillows matrests anything to slow the water rate down, until help arrived?
Alot of people say raising it would defile the graves of those who perished. I'm not so sure. Because in all honesty, there was nothing peaceful about the whole thing...what I mean is, I don't think that's where they would've prefered to remain.Perhaps by raising both halves we would somehow...finally bring them home instead of leaving them lost to that cold/dark place forever.Good Lord, what if somebody did make it to an airtight room and their body is still intact? They could be brought home.
if i was directer for the begining i show the ship sinking and show that night then do something like 60 years later or somthing and for the end i have them bring up both of them as it snaped the cray pulls 1 up and the other 1
Even today if they couldn't lift it, the actual frame and body are soo worn down by sea water and sea life corrosion it would probable disintegrate to dust
at the depth the titanic was at a puncture in the submarine would be catastrophic the pressure of the water was so strong that it would cut you clean in half
the outstanding feature of this movie is the soundtrack, some of the best music of any Titanic film. John Barry did the music here around the same time he was composing the music for "Somewhere in Time"(1980). The music in both films is hauntingly beautiful.
i still remember the comment i red in a book Lord Grade said that 'It would be cheaper to lower the Atlantic instead' because the film cost more than $35 million to make.
The music in this was stolen from a james bond movie i have heard it before.

@charlieiscool1000 -Not stolen, but John Barry did the score and it has the "Barry" sound to it. Its one of my favorite JB scores.

Also would it be not possible to ditch the anchors on port and starboard to reduce the weight on the bow end!
Use lifeboats attached to the bow to act as float!

Clive Cussler is my favorite author. I here that Raise the Titanic (movie) hardly follows the book. The book is great!
