The passenger airbag sensors go out, the thermostat plastic housing falls apart, the key will stick in the ignition. I had the car a month and found out that the car had the wrong alternator in it. GMAC admits to the problems but will not put out a recall. Before buying or if you are having problems, please check a site that I found. It may help. AllAuto.com
@MrThegodfather2010 how do you prevent buying a car that has the wrong alternator in it from the lot? I bought the car brand new. They could never give me a reason for why the key got stuck in the ignition, figured that one out on my own. The same with the thermostat housing. The dealership said they knew there was a problem with the housing falling off and radiator fluid going all over the engine. They said that they didn't consider that a recall when they upgraded from plastic to aluminum.
@MrThegodfather2010 and I wrote the post a month ago. Why are you replying so late? Also, if yoiu know so much about the car, how about offer some suggestions for getting things fixed. Your lame comment was no help at all. At least I'm trying to let people know what I and others have went through before they buy. Ever heard of Consumer Reports? I'm the consumer.
The Chevy Aveo is the latest of GM's globalization that is descending on the American public like a dark cloud. To compete with the Japanese at the entry level car, GM began importing different lakes of cars & badging them with GM logos. The Aveo is of deawoo origin, and was designed for a low speed urban environment. It has questionable quality control & questionable design features. GM is hoping to bring in sales prospects with its lying ads. GM will fuck itself in the long run with this car!
It's almost identical to my pontiac wave hatchback 05. Same color, same design, same spoiler.. Interesting !
