Read Lennon Remembers, RS pubisher Jann Wenner's interviews with John in the early 70's. John terrified me with his anger and rage and venting. But he was honest, and always direct and very funny, a great wit, sharp and savage, but not a nasty dick. tremendous pressure on him and his pals and growing up in public, etc

It would've been great to see Tom Jones kick John's ass. John was fairly insensitive & hurtful with a lot of his off the cuff comments and I think a bit of a belting round the ears would've cut him down to size. Alas it was not to be. U can't compare them as artists: Tom - adult middle of the rd Las Vegas type of entertainer ; John - artist , poet , writer , activist , composer , icon etc.... It's no wonder he wasn't a favourite of the royal family.

The point of this s not to compare or disparage the two - Tom Jomes was a fabulous entertainer who sang some great songs with style- John Lennon is an atrist for the ages..last year teh Beatles were amongst the biggest selling artists of teh yaer (AGAIN) they have outstripped any artist in pop history (along with Michael Jackson and Elvis) in terms of sucess and stristic achievemnt ( along with Dylan and Hendrix) Great story

Tom Jones is a great singer with a few hits(composed by other people) and some sex appeal years ago.

The Beatles, especially John Lennon marked milestones for history and is one of the greatest composers in modern history with REAL charisma and humor .

Lennon is one of the 2 or 3 people I've ever admired and your facts about him are correct, but Tom Jones sells out concerts to this day. He is one of the very greatest of the 20th centuries entertainers (though not my cup of tea) and his anecdotes in this video were NOT meant to knock Lennon at all.
