Actually King SHOULD have made the tackle at the 20, but he was too busy getting worked by the IL wideout. Then he COULD have made the tackle at the 25, but he was too busy stepping out of the way of Scirrotto's missed tackle. It wasn't until 65 yards later that he decided to participate in the play.

im a penn state student and im going to be a senior there ( the same year as justin king) and ive seen justin king play for 3 years now. hes probably the most overrated nfl drafted player ive ever seen. just because he runs a 4.3 40 doesnt mean hes amazing. the guy just isnt physical enough at the college level, nevermind the nfl! he cant tackle in the open field on a regular basis( even though this particular play was very impressive). he should have stayed his final year

Except this isn't an open field tackle. He's running up behind a guy who has no idea he's there and is expecting to waltz into the endzone. The really weak part about this I think is that he doesn't try to punch the ball out. He's satisfied with just making the tackle. Aside from that, Mendenhall isn't exactly a speed back, which is why he's now with the Steelers.

have you ever played football?! I believe your missing out on fundamentals of stripping the ball. There are two options. One you can bring your arm over and rip it out, which in that case is the SAFEST way because it allows for a good grasp on the player just incase you fail.Or you can come from underneath which is hard to do considering Mendenhall is sprinting for the endzone and the ball is moving back and forth with his arm motion (simple run tech). You clearly have no football intelligence.

Have to agree he could have used another year. Speed isn't everything. He's not a physical corner, he missed tackles and is easily blocked. Has trouble covering taller WR's. Harvey of Indiana torched him last year for 15 catches. I actually think Sargeant, PSU's other corner had a better year.

He was one of Penn States great coners to come out in a looong time...if he stayed one more year he would have been a top 20 pick! KING is the MAN! In the combines he was the fastest FOR A CORNER!! Pro teams don't go soft zone 99% of the time. You make a name for yourself by getting directly in the face of the man you're responsible for and take him out of his game completely. King is not use to this; he is normally a good five yards from the LOS. He will have to learn how to play corner all over again to survive at the next level. If he had signed with Michigan, he would've been more prepared for the pro game, and he would've been a first round pick.
