  • wow, 30 round magazine! Is this the german SS version? I saw a old WW2 photo with SS using ZB-26(MG-26) with such a enlarged magazine

  • jojo tenhle kulomet je klasik

  • Jojo ten to kulomet je klasa

  • preferred squad support weapon of the 7.SS Prinz Eugen Gebirgsjagers

  • pretty good look at the weapon yr cow killer :P

  • ty jo, chtel bych nekdy videt tuhle zbran strilet z pevnostni lafety (at uz z lehkyho ci tezkyho opevneni :))

  • the best Czech gun

  • Its oldtimer at first and very good machinegun between WWI -WWII. In this time is CZ 805probebly the best CZ army weapon. This gunsystem is simillar or little better than german G36.

  • SA vz.58 too, czechs can make weapons...

  • what is this song?

  • "O Fortuna"

  • ZB26 was the major light machine guns in the Chinese Army during WW2!

  • that thing sounds so beefy

  • Nice one. 5 stars. Wee Czechoslovakians can bee proud that wee developt something the Brtits modified to create their own version and used it well thru out the war.

  • witch caliber? 7,92 x 57?

  • yes 7.92X57 Mauser

  • nice one mate 5***** that big mag looks weird

  • Most likely back in those days the thought that ammo would be wasted with larger magazines or they became heavier and larger so harder to carry. The BAR had only 20 rnd mags so the military might hae copied the idea.

  • Were they custom-made at the time period? There seems to be some disagreement in books about the existence of 30-round magazines for the ZB 26. I tend to think that authors just mix the ZB 26 up with the Bren in terms of magazine capacity, but this video threw me off a bit. Did 30-round magazines exist for this gun during World War II?

  • The mags in WW2 were all 20 rnd mags, the books are wrong. There were 40rd mags made from the ZB30 in 7mm for a south american country.

  • Wait how many rounds did you load into that magazine? (I think I'm asking the same thing as the previous guy, but i can't find his earlier comments) That was 30 rounds correct? With 7.92x57mm correct? That looks like a really big magazine, the photos of Zb vz 26 that i've seen only carry around 20 rounds, is that 30 round specially built/post war?

  • In the video 30 rnds were loaded into a custom made magazine (made by combining two 20 rnd mags into a 30 rnd). As I said above, the 20 rnd magazine is standard for the ZB series in 8mm.

  • Oh, ok thanks for info, also great video, I like it when people give a view behind the ironsights of a weapon, difficult to do properly though.

  • @pvtherman i think thats 7.26x54r

  • @ta2joe13 The gun is in 7.92X57mm aka 8mm Mauser.

  • The 30 rnd magazines in the video were custom made from two 20 rnd mags. The normal magazine is 20 rnds in size. The 30 rnd magazine is just as reliable as my 20 rnd ones. I have never had a failure with this gun with good ammunition.

  • nice very informational

alot of the external features resemble that of the M240.

Barrel change looks 90% the same.

  • I really like this gun

  • the zb26 was designed in 1920s and from him appears the bren so the original of both is the zb26,right?

  • The ZB26 was designed in 1924 and produced starting in 1926. The Bren is a derivative of the ZB26 but it is closer to the ZB30 than the ZB26. The ZB30 is the next iteration of the ZB26. The ZB33 is the first Bren style ZB.

  • so this is the original mg?

  • this is my favorite gun

  • Thanks for posting, great gun, and great vid that shows all its details. Someday, somehow, I'm gonna' get me one of these things. Take care!

  • love that loader.

  • ZB 26 is very good czech machingun!!

Zb 26 je velmi dobrý Český lehký kulomet. Velice dobře se osvědčil taktéž v čs.opevnění. Nebýt "dvacetšestky" není BREN

  • BREN udělali pro brity ve zbrojovce Brno. Oni jen koupili licenci. Stejně tak BESA je licence TK vz.37

  • Great machine gun! This weapon was used from the germans in the second world war?

  • It was used by many countries during WW2. The Germans used it after they invaded Czechoslovakia. They called it the MG-26(t).

  • this gun was used from the vietcong and vietmihn?

  • It was mainly used by the Czech, Nazis, Chinese and was later used by Japan when captured and later in Vietnam but they were Chinese copies in 7.62X39

  • No, the Bren was derived from this gun so the Bren would be the copy if you want to put it that way.

  • oh are you joking ? :D this machingun vz. 26 is daddy od the best war and post war machineguns. It si 82 years old weapon and its still good!

  • You are stupid! BREN mean BRno - ENfield. BREN is czech license. Like as BESA.

  • how much did that gun cost

  • over 27,000 USD

  • In Czech rep. this (original) gun cost is 20000 Kč ( 1 USD = 30 Kč )

  • You can get them for under 1,000$ in canada. Go figure...

  • yeah but you can't shoot them. Unfortunately 1968 was the last year they could be imported to the US and sold to civilians so the price is high and they are rare.

  • It is Romanian 8mm and not Wolf.

  • Good gun - I know the Germans favoured it. A match for the Bren?

  • The Bren is a derivative design of the ZB26. So the Bren has improvements over the ZB26 but the 8mm round is a better round than the .303 but the Bren used 30 rnd mags as opposed to the ZB26 std. 20 rnd. Overall the bren is the better gun but it was 7 years of further development on the ZB26 design.

  • gooner:Stupid you. Zb 26 isn't germany gun, is czech-gook!

  • I think he is referring to the fact that the Germans used the ZB26 after they invaded Czech. They called it the MG26(t).

  • this is true

  • Is it 7,62x54r ???

  • 8mm mauser

  • this is good gun.

yor dog is quite cute :P
