This was the greatest singer in this country & no one new what to do with him. I never did see him live, but he was in my town & i was to young to appreciate . However i did go to see matt jnr & it was great . B ut still miss the old man. At the end of the day young matt was a gentleman & i had a good chat with him in glasgow .The best about it was he was not even working . He was trying to get in to the concert hall in the afternoon . I was going to the concert that night & met matt outside
I was only 15 when Matt Monro died, but cant believe, looking back what I missed. I was more interested in TOTP in them days to notice. But what a voice, Best British Singer of the last 50 years. Challenge that question.

The Greatest Male Singer this Country has ever seen and also
The Most Underated
I was lucky enough to see him in a show in Margate in 1966, although I was only 15 and into Beat music I really enjoyed it
After the show he happily met and chatted to fans for ages,which he obviously enjoyed
A modest unassumming chap who clearly had not forgotten his humble beginning/roots
To say we will never see his like again for a number of reasons is an understatement
