Thank you so much for your videos! You've helped me alot to eat healthier and lose weight, and also being a better wow player with your addons, they help me heal! ;D
is this serving just for one person? and if so what would u recommend for like about 3 people? obviously i would assume triple the amount but i just wanted your opinion
this is good, to learn those people how to get fit... because they will listen to a beautiful girl... but it would also help for them to try some sport like swimming or running each morning... it can be hard to find the motivation, but at that point u just gotta slap ur self in the face and go for it... right?
I just made the Apple Cinnamon oatmeal, its fantastic! I thought there would be too much cinnamon but it is a very good ratio of cinnamon to oats and apples. Im going to try the Banana Cacao tomorrow. Thanks much for the vids, keep 'em coming! :)
Thank you for sharing these recipes. Although I'm not a fan of banana, I do enjoy apples. My family was grilling pork chops for dinner tonight, so I decided to give these a try instead (healthier, and I was in the mood for something fruity). Absolutely delicious, and I made enough for 3 comfortable meals with little effort, and in about 8 minutes! I may even try to mix the recipes, apple-cocoa might be good. :)
btw i can say for my own experiene as a game veteran: i eat oats every day for breakfest. it keeps you full for like 4hours which is great. after that a normal meal is great! at the afternoon again some stuff, maybe some sweets/fruits and at the evening again a big dinner.
ofc guys, dont forget Sports!! even the pro-Gamers who earn cash with playing games do go alot in the Gym. No fit Body? No fit Brain = skill lacking
Mandy, You weren't kidding when you said this one serving is HUGE! I couldn't believe my eyes when I finished making my banana cocoa oats this morning. The serving was gigantic and only weighed in at about 330 calories. Not to mention it put instant to shame.
150 for the oats
110 (apprx) for my banana (7.5")
50 for the milk
15 brown sugar
5 for the cocoa (being generous).
Yum yum. Thanks so much for sharing. Keep them coming.
I seem to be having a slight problem with the banana-cocoa oatmeal. We buy the over-large bananas and trying to "safe" the parts I don't use can sometimes be a pain (even with the lemon juice). This time, I'm tasting more banana than anything else, which tells me I put too much in it. What do you think would be good to counteract the banana-y taste? More brown sugar or more cocoa?
hey when i first watched your videos i thought it would be so much work to make those but ive made the apple cinnamon oats twice now and it tasted way better the second time cuz i used a fresh apple :D im gonna make the banana cocoa oats next and try to make the spice muffins. thank you for the recipes! ^^
@Kosackk I never claimed to be good looking, nor do I think of myself as particularly pretty. But hey, at least I'm not desperate enough for attention to insult random people on the internet with awful English.
@Saonserey You're gorgeous, don't even think twice about listening to this angry cavedwelling basement freak of a person... He's probably taken aback by your beauty cause it's the first time he's ever seen a woman... Poor bloke :( x
Wow the banana-cocoa oatmeal looks good. These are porridge oats right or am I being incredibly dense?
I'd also like to suggest a raisin-honey variation, my standard porridge choice. Just add 1 handful of raisins while cooking the oatmeal, when it is still thin and honey to taste once it has gone a bit denser.
I hope you do release your favourite oatmeal recipes because these two look lovely.
I believe the word you're looking for at the 9:00 mark is viscosity ;)
Anyway, just found the channel and love the videos so far. I've been trying to get in better shape myself for a while since I am an avid gamer and have a desk job which means I spend a very good chunk of each day sitting on my backside. Combine that with a high stress job and no time for lunch (meaning fast food is often appealing) and it's very easy for me to get unhealthy.
When you're cutting up the apple, the skin of the apple is actually very nutritious and a great snack for when you have a munchies. I find that if you let them soak in lemon juice for a little bit in a sealed container, then take them out later, they're a great, healthy snack when you have the munchies.
@VikingSpaceNinja I usually eat the skin as I peel them, but depending on where you buy your apples, the skin might actually carry more pesticides than vitamins. It's a toss-up!
I Tried The Cocoa banana oatmeal today and my 3 year old son LOVED it.. ive had a hard time gettin him to eat breakfest but when i introduced him to this he was asking for more YAY ! :D so from now on we are gonna "play" oatmeal recipes :P
@LouiseEbersbach Woohoo! I'd imagine oatmeal would be a really fun thing to help expand a kid's palate! You can really mix anything into it and it always comes out amazingly. :D

Been watching Ailenas (Mandy now? Weird.) videos since Jan. 2010. Always professional, always informative, always a little dorky and sometimes annoyingly cute. Hope to see more of these. I changed to a more healthy lifestyle over a year ago and these help since oatmeal, chicken and chicken gets old. Thanks Ailen...uh Mandy!
I'm surprised you didn't put in your video the #1 rule (that I was taught) about cooking: clean as you go. You showed by example though so I wont condemn you. :P
Good luck with future cooking endeavors and the sound with them.
Thanks, Aliena, for recommending the nut butter idea to your oatmeal receipe!
I made an alternative oatmeal receipe myself using your basic oatmeal guidelines: Peanut Butter Peach Oatmeal! I know, it may not sound a popular flavor combination to you, but for me, it suited me perfectly! Furthermore, I'm the kind of person that doesn't like to add any additional sugars or spices to my food for taste. You're definitely correct that the fructose in fruits can be sufficient enough for taste.
Wait did she forget to turn on the sound both times or did she cook one right after the other one? also i wonder how she kept the camera looking down up there...
One thing I'd point out though:, an all too prevalent condition of fiber overload -- some peeps are *extremely* averse to large (large == "normal" to higher) amounts of fiber, it makes them constipated, whilst the vast majority of people benefit from it and actually experience far more regularity from higher amounts of fiber. Our culture of fast food has made most Americans very low on the fiber intake. 25-30g of fiber will give most a great increase in their regularity.
I made the apple-cinnamon oatmeal and it was the best breakfast i have ever had!!! it really does make you feel fuller than any of the breakfast cereals i normally eat :)
Thanks for posting these! I tried both, I love the apple cinnamon one. I really hope you post more recipes, I really enjoyed this! Thanks for your hard work.
I've tried both of these now and they are amazing. I'm trying to reduce my cholestrol per the doctors orders and eating this in the morning seems to be a good start. If you have any more oatmeal recipes, please share! Thanks a ton.

Not sure if previous comment stuck, so here goes: For general oatmeal, is more than one 1tsp brown sugar okay/advised? Had family taste test, said it needed more sweetness (apple cinnamon). Also, for banana-cocoa, is more than one tsp of cocoa okay? I want to try it kinda chocolatey and don't have the peanut butter.
@Zartemis The problem is, it doesn't need more sweetness, but 'cause our bodies are used to oh-so-much sugar, at first this taste like it's on the low side, when really, it's not. It's okay to use up to 2 tsp brown sugar or some stevia of course, but I do highly recommend cutting down on it as bodies get more used to less. Less is always better, and keep in mind the daily recommendation for TOTAL sugar intake is 10 tsp right now! It seems low cause everything we eat has so much sugar added.
Question! For the banana-cocoa, is it okay to add more cocoa for taste? And for general oatmeal, is more than one brown sugar tsp advised? Family taste-tested, said it could use a bit more sugar.
You really should avoid Bertolli's olive oil. It's very refined. Also, buy olive oil in dark bottles and store in dark places. Light causes it to oxidize and kills it. As for that canola oil, it's incredibly artificial and processed with a lot of bad fat. It can fuck with your metabolism. Canola isn't even a plant, it's genetically engineered from rapeseed. I would replace that with some nice coconut oil. Just saying.
i just made myself the apple cinnamon oat meal because i unfortunately was out of bananas and no store within 30 miles had them (i live in a small town) anyway i actually used dried apples from my apple trees from last year because they arnt ripe yet this year and those worked surprisingly well!
I loved this video...I actually never really liked Oatmeal but i tried your recipe and its so yummy...cocoa-banana is great!
I've been watching your videos since you started but this'll be my first comment! I shared this video on my facebook with all my gamer/wow friends. ^_^
Great recipe. I love that you're encouraging people to cook for themselves. I think a great part of our diets today is that we accept processed foods rather than taking the 10 minutes to cook for ourselves.
Anyway, great recipe. I have honey on my oats to sweeten them, just a dash at the end.
Hey Mandy, I'd like you to know I am thoroughly enjoying your new series. What you're doing here is exactly what I needed. Please continue the wonderful work and keep the recipes and health tips coming! Its very appreciated. : )
The word that you were looking for was "Thick" btw and i am eating this as im typing this and its REALLY good. : ) and i agree with you Microwaving not only taste worse but it kills alot of the vitamins and minerals in what ever it is your Nuking due to the vibrations of the water which causes friction which cause heat ect... NEWAYS! lol thanks alot for this and keep up your vids im excited to see what else you give us to make! <3
This breakfast is rather high in carbohydrate and sugar. Is there any sort of justification for why this is necessary or how this trumps a breakfast of eggs and meat/cheese?
Great post. I have to agree with you on Oatmeal. I really have yet to find a recipe for an Oatmeal concoction that does not taste delicious.
Recommendation for future kitchen videos is to take a page out of cooking shows:
- Show ingredients before hand (like a glamor shot), and then prep them off-camera. It says time. If you have a lot of filler chat, then by all means chop away. =)
wauw this all looks very delicious i might actually have to go learn how to cook that is gonna involve ALOT of cleaning up more than you normally would lol
now this fitgamer thingie looks like a very good idea since we all like playing a game and have fun and who doesnt wanna lose some weight if youve got a bit too much? :)
Hey, I've watched all of the FitGamer videos so far, and I'd like to say thank you. I actually just cooked the Banana-cocoa oatmeal, and it's rather good. It's not too sweet, which I personally think is great.
This is too complicated...just put some water and oatmeal in a bowl heat in microwave then take out stir and heat it again....done! Eat an apple with it if you want.
Definitely eadible, but that's about it. To me, this is not delicious enough that I'll go to the bother of cooking my oats every morning, instead of simply eating them raw with ice-cold milk and a dash of sugar or finely chopped fruit, like I've been doing for the past 26 years :)
other than that, Aliena is definitely right. Eat your oats every morning, they are good for you!
However, about 70% of the apples vitamines are in the paring. So I like to keep it and not throw it away. Just use a apple decore tool (just google apple core remover), put the apple in the blender and then put it into the oatmeal.
Great recipy, thanks! I'm an oatmeal fan myself :). But a little comment: about 70% of the apples vitamins are in the paring. So if you don't mind it too much, you can use one of these tools to remove the core (just google "apple core remover") and then put it into the blender. Try it :)
More than 5000 people also eat microwave pizza and agree it's delicious. So that's not really saying a lot. Also, was that a plate of some sort you cut the apples on? Suggest you always use a cutting board unless you want to completely destroy your knives.
@Datamike Delicious does not equal good for you and health benefits. Give it a go before bitchin' aimlessly, oats are among the most-sold groceries for a reason and it's definitely not because they're 'disgusting'.
And my knives have been fine for years, thanks for the concern!
I made one comment on the taste so far, so I don't think it counts as "aimlessly." I also didn't say oats aren't good for you, just said your flavor combination is horrifying. It might be really shocking but most people don't choose what they eat by health concerns alone.
Btw, if you're gonna post more recipes, suggest you don't get bent over just because someone doesn't like it, as taste is subjective. Unless Internet fame is also accompanied by narcissism.
@Datamike Flavor combinations don't really get more basic than this. You're the one getting bent over, and clearly not very good at taking it, so I'll save you the hassle. Have a nice day, sir, I hope someone else will be more appreciative of your internet rage!
@Saonserey Just stop replying to him, by doing so your making him feel important and he's just a 15 year old kid mad that hes still fat and cant get skinny. Please dont listen to troll's like datamike lots of people watch these videos and some are getting helped by them, your doing something good for society datamike doesnt do shit so dont let him get you off track
@Datamike Well, if you notice around 2:50, she does say something along the lines of this is how I do it and like these mixes but you can do anything to them you want.
Sometimes we all need to be like the little rabbit on Bambi and if we can't say something nice, we don't need to say anything at all, lol. Not flaming at you though, I swear. Just wanted to make that noticed really about her comment around 2:50.
Anyways, thanks again Aliena, I enjoy your ideas and will be trying it now!
I don't see how you can consider either of those a terrible flavor combination. The cocoa espresso one especially sounded good. Looking forward to more vids.
I figured i'd make the chocolatey one this morning(without the Banana, we didn't have any) and my sister had some Instant Oats(she refused to try this because I was making it, i'm the better cook btw)
Anyway, by the time ours were both finished, I had twice as many as she did (my bowl was full, she barely had a bit in the bottom) and I dare say mine smelled ALOOOOT better ^.^
Oh gosh that looks good. I can't cook - heck, I burn soup (and can't use a microwave well... who knew a Jamaican patty doesn't go in there for 10 minutes...) - but this is making me tempted to try to learn it!
Thank you for taking the time and dedication to really put this together for people. I really do appreciate it. :D
Soo.. A triple stacked baccon burger, side of chili-cheese fries and a 2 liter bottle of Jolt isnt the breakfast of champion gamers? DRATT! I've been misled! Thank you for setting me straight. :)
Most rolled oats are irradiated, depleting oats of most of its nutritional value. Organic Steel Milled oats are your best bet. You are right though, gamers are the laziest people.
@omfgusukbad This is completely untrue. Nutrition facts of rolled and steel-cut oats is virtually identical, the only difference is that steel-cut have been sliced with a blade, whereas rolled oats have been steamed and pressed, reducing cooking time later on. And, of course, the taste.
I have a personal trainer which has worked out fantastically for me, my fitness levels have gone through the roof! I do still however have the mental attitude that now that im doing more work at the gym I can continue to eat.. not trash but healthy foods in large portions, because im doing more physical activities. Thanks very much for the advice in these videos i'm going to try and do as you suggest - its better than what im doing now! :)

Question! For the banana-cocoa, is it okay to add more cocoa for taste? And for general oatmeal, is more than one brown sugar tsp advised? Family taste-tested, said it could use a bit more sugar.
Zartemis 1 year ago
@Zartemis Sure, more cocoa is just fine!

LapisGarter 1 year ago
@LapisGarter The oils aren't mine, so I can't vouch for or against them. I rarely cook with oil, but I like sunflower oil when I do.
Saonserey 1 year ago
@LapisGarter
Yes, I agree, but it's specially on high temperature the coconut oil is the best, on lower temperature it's not that big of a deal.
I personaly use olive oil on low heat (beacause i like how it is to work with), and coconut oil if i'm going "over the edge" on the heat.

Hey Mandy!
Great recipe. I love that you're encouraging people to cook for themselves. I think a great part of our diets today is that we accept processed foods rather than taking the 10 minutes to cook for ourselves.
Anyway, great recipe. I have honey on my oats to sweeten them, just a dash at the end.

My take on the Apple-Cinnamon oatmeal:
Definitely eadible, but that's about it. To me, this is not delicious enough that I'll go to the bother of cooking my oats every morning, instead of simply eating them raw with ice-cold milk and a dash of sugar or finely chopped fruit, like I've been doing for the past 26 years :)
other than that, Aliena is definitely right. Eat your oats every morning, they are good for you!

@SuperShiningSun That is why she said you can make your own variations on it, to your taste.

Hey, oatmeal-fan here :)
However, about 70% of the apples vitamines are in the paring. So I like to keep it and not throw it away. Just use a apple decore tool (just google apple core remover), put the apple in the blender and then put it into the oatmeal.
LueTm 1 year ago
@Saonserey
Great recipy, thanks! I'm an oatmeal fan myself :). But a little comment: about 70% of the apples vitamins are in the paring. So if you don't mind it too much, you can use one of these tools to remove the core (just google "apple core remover") and then put it into the blender. Try it :)

@Saonserey
More than 5000 people also eat microwave pizza and agree it's delicious. So that's not really saying a lot. Also, was that a plate of some sort you cut the apples on? Suggest you always use a cutting board unless you want to completely destroy your knives.
Datamike 1 year ago
@Datamike Delicious does not equal good for you and health benefits. Give it a go before bitchin' aimlessly, oats are among the most-sold groceries for a reason and it's definitely not because they're 'disgusting'.
And my knives have been fine for years, thanks for the concern!
Saonserey 1 year ago 14
This comment has received too many negative votes show
@Saonserey
Datamike 1 year ago
@Datamike Flavor combinations don't really get more basic than this. You're the one getting bent over, and clearly not very good at taking it, so I'll save you the hassle. Have a nice day, sir, I hope someone else will be more appreciative of your internet rage!

Most rolled oats are irradiated, depleting oats of most of its nutritional value. Organic Steel Milled oats are your best bet. You are right though, gamers are the laziest people.
Go Vegan!
omfgusukbad 1 year ago
@omfgusukbad This is completely untrue. Nutrition facts of rolled and steel-cut oats is virtually identical, the only difference is that steel-cut have been sliced with a blade, whereas rolled oats have been steamed and pressed, reducing cooking time later on. And, of course, the taste.
