The content and focus maybe have been less bass-driven after cliff, but that's not what turns me off of this album. It's all the production sound. I'm certainly not grumpy, but I am old (38), and I tuned Metallica out after "Justice". I don't see what "getting over the past" has to do with anything, but the best band? Come on. It would be interesting to see where they would turn with a new drummer. They are old, but so is Kreator, and Kreator is still doing it.

BUT Metallica played it perfectly when they were young...they got commercial as most Americans would do for the money. I'm not knockin it. It is just a fact. Metallica is now rock and roll and never did reach the status of a thrash band. The 90s hit with grunge and "thrash" bands had to do something to make money. Metallica made the right choice, their new music just sucks because of it.
