Watch the ORIGINAL 1939 film. In my hunble opinion far better than this. Nothing against the actress in the remake, I like them all but the Original is so! more snappy, witty and razor sharp. I know it's another time but the dialogue is Class with a capital C.

I just caught the tail end of this movie this morning...When Annette Benning said " GD, I'm so glad I didn't have children! And that's the most impermissible thing anyone could ever say at a dinner party"! I almost laughed until I cried! I have two daughters and there are times when I've said "Mom was right, sex is bad"! So many issues in one movie that todays woman must learn to manage.

The 1939 "The Women" was genius all the way through. The music was heart-tugging and lovely. The 1956 remake, "The Opposite Sex," stank to high heaven. This version, with the slutty potty mouths, the animalistic "music," and barnyard vulgarity, goes beyond stench into some metaphysical realm of soul-defiling, world-destroying evil.

I loved this movie! I also loved the part where the 2 maids are decorating the Christmas tree and the young, Swedish maid is just throwing the tensil on the tree in big clumps and the old maid says, "Now I don't know what you do in your country but in our country we DON'T throw the tensil in clumps!!! We place it!! We place it!!" Then they both start placing it really gently. HILARIOUS!!!!!

This movie is a sample the reason of the decadence of the U.S. culture, the story of plastic, pathetic women desperate for material good and fame. Diane English only damages the mentality of innocent people. Money and luxury make no happiness. I cannot image how a man can marry women like this. They are not even that attractive but sure they demand the world as if they had something unique. An Indian or Asian woman would make a better wife for sure.

You're right LSlut. They didnt go to a "dyke bar" in the 1939 movie, but they did have the lesbian character in the original stage play in 1936. They had to get rid of her for the movie because of the homophobia at the time...kinda like what u were expressing.
