  • 23$?! xD It´s kinda to expensive for... this xD We´re paying 25€ for a hostle and it´s kinda more confi then the capsule o.o

  • how much american is it a night here?

  • I prefer sleeping in my car !

  • reminds me of the fifth element

  • they should put these in airplanes.

  • My capsule is augmented.

  • Use that type of hotel when I got low-cost travel. If you save money to buy more souvenir you should use that.

  • I want to go in a capsule. Although, a door would be quite nice when pervs are walking around..

  • youre kinda quite in a totally not creepy way...haha...

    yeh

  • I always wanted to sleep in a box. ^__^

  • Women arent allowed at the capsule hotel because they dont want any trouble.

  • that would be cool... as long as you had a tv and airconditioning and room service, you'd be ok. the toilets were in the hallway right?

  • is there aircon inside

  • i saw the capsule your in; in my textbook.....awsome

  • sooo coooooll !!! I love it!!!

  • sleeping in that capsule must make you feel VERY small xD but 16.45€ is cheaper than any hotel in berlin

  • it's a bloody pet cage

  • :O You're cute.

  • I had a Japanese friend once and she also posted something like this hear on YouTube except she sayed she felt like a prisoner

  • @fusionfallx They are small and cramped but I bet even in the USA they would be popular at the right price...maybe $10.00 per nigt

  • @EdwardRommel they would fail in america

  • @Jayday12345678910 I lol'd XD

  • im 6'2 would i fit in one of them

  • @calderposse My Brother said he tried one of those in Tokyo, and he's 6'5"

Although it might not be so comfortable and you'll probably have to tuck in your legs I think you'd fit just fine :)

  • is their any honeymoon suite in ths hotel ??

  • that'd make me soo clausterphobic

  • ppl put no effort to make their videos look better ..

  • Showers? Also i would imagine it would be difficult for anyone 2 have fun in those anyway....given the space lol.

  • this one has every thing even a tv, the one in my video doesnt have a tv , and its for men and women but in separated chambers

  • How big are the capsules? What if your like, 5'9, would you still be able to stay in one? O.o

  • What if one is claustrophobic?

  • @sparcal54 those places are not for such people , it would be really scary for them

  • i think its for men only because sex would be a pain in there!

  • Yeah, and what if a fire breaks out and you get trapped in it, that thing quickly becomes your casket.

  • Japan rules!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These type of hotels are just for people from overseas who have no money. or homeless who have little money.

Ordinary Japanese do not use it.

Only rich Japanese people can live in Tokyo.

Only rich people from overseas can visit Japan.

If you want to stay at ordinary big hotel, just pay money.

  • i seriously just wanna rip one of those capsules out and put it in my room

  • looks cool to stay in one of those

  • Do the capsules have any curtains or blinds?

  • @KBAFourthtime Oh, yeah, curtains or fiberglass at the open end.

  • @KBAFourthtime YES you are good to stay there for a night ;)

  • man i wish ilived in a futuristic place like japan im stuck here in america cause im a douche!

  • @M3chah

    Get a job sucka

  • @Mattwad yeah i need to get a real job like a ceo or a cfo or a president of a company or a pilot i think im gonna go back in do a cna class that seems like a decent paying job damn idk .

  • Thats good I dont live in Japan, the country is overcrowded.

  • i would like to stay in one of those. ^_^ god, I'm just in love with Japan.

by the way, when i saw you in the video, i was like "wow. your so handsome." ^_^

  • @jessiica134 lol no girls allowed. Usually only men allowed in those things.

  • id definetly stay in one of those

inclosed spaces make me feel safer anyway.....

  • Considering the homelessness problem in the UK, if the authorities could 'think outside the box, this is definitely a solution. We've had an exceptionally cold winter here in the UK and it reminds me of how fortunate I am to have a roof over my head.

  • not good for people who are chlostrophobic?

  • talk about being close to your neighbors

  • LOL It looks like those sleeping quarters on space shuttles :P

  • 0:52 Do those hotels offer male manicures?

  • that is weird. noway i stay in one of them. i wud get claustophobia

  • Where is the bathroom?

  • @TheAsharedhett That's a good question! Maybe it's down the hall or something. Or maybe you just hold it? I dunno. LOL!

  • I think i would actually like to stay in one these. Looks like it would be fun.

  • Oh my gosh! O.O

  • Wonder how noisey it is in there???

  • this would never work in the US.. or the UK

  • I think this hotels are great. I wasn´t anywhere in one of this hotels, because in germany aren´t some of theese, but I think its a great idea.

    much kisses

  • This seems like a fantastic idea. I can sleep anywhere. I move furniture with my dad across the country. That capsule doesn't look anything worse than a semi-truck for 2 weeks.

  • I don't think I'd mind much. It looks pretty roomy.

  • 昔はこれでもよかったけど、今はネットカフェがあるからなあ。

    良質のネットカフェの映像を、外国の皆さんにも見せてあげたいよ。

  • Surely... it should be an opportunity to think about the feeling of the bee.....

  • I don't think I can sleep in there. I'd rather sleep in the park if it's safe...???

  • It's like the morgue where they store the dead bodies.

  • In this case its like a refuge for the homeless because its around US$30 per night.

  • Went to one of those. stayed for a night because my destination was a few cities over (and im new to Japan). its pretty cool, for 1-2 nights.

  • this looks amazing :D

  • wow shared it on facebook coz its so cool,

    few questions

    1) is that a tv?

    2) where do u put ur luggage?

    3) what about when people walk past and make noise? (obv japanese ppl dont coz theyre so concerning, but what about foreginers, is it sound proof?)

  • I just watch a documentary on TV about them:

    1) Yes they have Radio AND TV included inside

    2) The guy put the suitcase on a locker inside (they are small enough for a suitcase or a small bag, forget it if you have much luggage)

    3) The people usually stay in those just for a night, to spend the night and go in the morning so the chances are when you stay on one, all people is sleeping so you dont get much bother for the noise. They are not sound proof rooms.

  • thanx alot it helped

  • these things are siiiiick!! to bad u cant smoke in there, and kinda sucks that it's only for guys, cause well ur right it would be awsome to bring a girl in there. must be so comfy and homey

  • These are awesome I found out about them in my social studies book lol.. yeah I saw and was like "woah!" haha

  • it is trouble for others walking around hotel at midnight.

why does not gaijin understand such a matter?

  • I hate to be mean but does anyone remember Tom Green had a shirt in his hand "Go Fork Yourself?"

  • amazing!!!

  • How old you have to be to get one?

  • where do they go to the bathroom?

  • the bathroom down the hall

  • I know they're for backpackers, but japan is so exotic. If I ever went there for a Holiday i'd stay in a luxury hotel 4 sure but just 1 night in a capsule, just for the experience.

  • that is fucking perverse. one question: WHY?

  • Japan=small

    Japan= lots of humans

Lots of humans= lots of living space

lots of living space= lots of land

lots of living space+small land=high density living :)

  • surely the demand for those sleeping-holes can't be that high? in the video they all look empty.

there's high density living, then there's living in a hamster home.

  • Actually, capsule hotels are usually just for people who are traveling light, cheap, or have missed the last train and need to get some sleep, but don't want to pay for an expensive taxi ride home.

  • one question: why not?

  • Gotta love Japanese innovation.

  • theyre like mini houses, that is sooooooo cool!

  • Some capsule hotels, like the one in Akihabara, actually have a separate floor for women who want to stay. They can also offer lower fee's for groups of women who come in together hoping to stay the night.

The only bad point for the women though it that they cant use the public bath the hotel provides and have to settle for a separate shower room on a different floor.

  • i hope that was a misguided attempt at humor..

  • capsule hotels are all over japan, there so bad ass i want to stay in someday

  • as long asthe tv is working i woulden't sleeping there

  • If it wasn't for the title, I would have mistaken this for a laundromat.

  • for real free massage?

  • Perfect. You've been out for a night of drinking, have worked late or don't want to take a long train ride home. $23 is a bargain in Japan.

  • I would like to stay one night in a place like this for one or two nights. It would be cool.

  • where exactly is this hotel located?

  • claustrophobic fo sho

  • Oooh, that capsule kinda reminds me of the ship to Flostan Paradice in 'The 5th Element'. It looks very cosy, though a bit creepy at night. Lovely! Thanks for sharing!

*You are cute by the way*

  • I was thinking the exact same thing. I think that was based on Japanese Capsule Hotels, except theirs are on planes and emits a funny gas that makes you sleep during the plane ride. XD lmao

  • looks very claustrophobic.

  • Massage and breakfast for $23? Pretty sweet deal! How was the massage and what was for breakfast?

  • why are women not allowed ??

  • It's a no-brainer.

What if you heard thumping on the side of your hotel room in the night?!

    :P

  • Wow, I might be kind of scared to sleep in there.

  • Ancient, go to www.xe.com

  • No fair,I wanna go to Japan, but I have to wait another 2 years T-T.Do u know that stuff about how much Japanese money equals American money?

  • about 100 yen or japanese money equils 1 american currentcy

  • HNA! Thats so cool. x_x You're so lucky, Not only have to been to Japan, Are Japanese yoursefl, You've got to stay in one of these hotels. ;-; Jealousy. +envy~+

And to top it off, you're pretty T__T

  • hey thanks! but you could barely even see me in the video. Anyways, yeah i had a friend studying in osaka japan last year and figured it would be a good time to visit the country, and ended up staying there for a whole month. I think these hotels are in most major cities in Japan. You should try out one yourself ;) oh btw, i am chinese, but love japanese culture.

  • It seems as if many chinese like Japan after all, one would think that it might not be so usual? As an absolute outsider, I can for sure like them both hehe.

  • No, women are allowed also. Some of them might be exclusively men, but not all. ^^

  • good to know, thanks. i found out about them in my lonely planet guide. I guess the one i stayed in with exclusively men...heh. I read your lj, must be great to be living out your dreams in japan ;)

  • Sugoi!! O_O THATS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
