I had the luck to be at all these concerts in Montreux in the mid-late 70's... Twas the time of the Giants !... I remember Count's jokes as if it was yesterday ! T4P !!!

Furthermore, I would like to declare Count Basie as one of the coolest people on earth. Just look at how he moves, the essence of cool.

Any single one of Basie's licks which make up his entire solo, just one single one would totally make another pianist's improv. Every key the Count touches turns into a small lick of gold.

That has been one of my favorite audio tracks since I discovered it 18 years ago, at the age of 14. I never new there was video of this concert. Now, I love it even more. Basie was the best.
