One of the worst movies of all time. The military personnel should of at least cut their hair before filming. I don't know how a 500 hundred foot whale could crawl on land and then jump over a 2000 foot mountain and not splatter itself. Then the 500 foot friking whale was hiding in 2 feet of water. @646nika its not. trust me. i watched it with an open mind and it was awful. the effects were underdone, they used the same footage over and over again, and they had one scene were they forgot to add the skyline, so outside the helicopters window was a green screen. and that ending was just terrible. watch it if your interested, but you'll see what i mean when you do.

This came out last year and I see why I never heard of it until now. Sad to say, the old movie that came out in 1956 looks like it probably had better special effects. Sorry, Melville, looks like that's the best Hollywood can do with your novel. But for what it's worth, the book was pretty cool, for 1851 standards, that is.
