  • Thanks a lot for this marvelous posting of you . The screaming I did myself the same as it is impossible to break it .

  • @MattNPhilly u jelly? Jk but i like the way he dances with confidence it looks great on a dancer especially i dont think he thinks he's better he just went all out because of the crazy fan girls. But yeah he is amazing.

  • That screaming turns this ballet into a freak show! Disgusting!

  • eles sao bonitos mas a menina é bem sujinha!=S

  • Nice save at 5:31(:

  • are there teenage girls screaming? i doubt it guys. it sounds like ethan has huge fan club xP all of them are amazing dancers. yyy does it look so easy, but its super hard? :'(

  • Where did the female solo go?? and the screaming is sooooo annoying! they can't even stand on that stage without that they scream!! :O anyways... the dancing is great! :D

  • That screaming is absolutely unnecessary. And I'm disappointed because I feel like they are young dancers who were not taught proper manners. It's a shame.

  • where's medora variation..?

  • I think the dancers altough maybe they had difficulties listening to the music, i'm sure they really enjoyed the hilarious screaming when in the wings, and laugh a lot about it. Besides, that made them go full out for real, the 3 of them were very spectacular at all times

  • Oh my, that was hilarious....the fan-girls I mean - the dancers were superb.

Annoying at first, but then I couldn't help laughing every time they screamed, especially when Ethan wasn't doing something that spectacular, after every movement they screamed - some serious Ethan Stiefel fan girls out there!

The 3 dancers really seemed to want to out-do the other, they were marvelous!

  • OMG. THOSE PUBESCENT GIRLS SCREAMING ARE SO ANNOYING. or they could be horny old cougars but the voices sounded pretty young. i dunno if the dancers actually appreciate the screaming, they might appreciate a good reaction from the audience but it's so distracting and sounds like a dying cat. anyway, the dancers were amazing, as usual XD

  • why does this seem so similar to the pas de deux?

  • @powerfulpowerzz Because originally was a Pas de trois as seen here, then Nureyev among others made it a pas de deux for Gala performances excluding the Conrad parts wich were made also the Ali character.

  • ke gente para mas gritooona.!

  • I wish the audience would shut up.

  • !Norteamericanos tenían que ser! Por favor, no hace falta GRITAAAAAAR, no es la Superbowl ni un espectaculo donde se destrozan coches...!!!!!!!!

  • I'm surprised the dancers could ever hear the music over the screaming.

  • why they scream all the time ??

  • Does Ethan's "holier than though" attitude bother anyone else? Something about his swagger that just irks me.

  • The ugliest, shapeless on bent knees fouettes I have ever seen.

  • @Leonnidik she is considered a fantastic turner ,and she is ,but me too am not a great fan.

  • @Leonnidik I AM LITTLE SORRY WHEN MUST HEAVILY CRITICIZE ,BUT I AM AFRAID YOU ARE TOO RIGHT.

  • Es horripilante la actuación de ese público...

  • yes, they are screaming. but try to be nice. they are just kids.screaming kids today and snobby ballet audiences criticizing on utube and at the theatre like yourselves now.so the only way our art will survive is that they are exposed to it. for one they are screaming for ballet and not britney smears. appreciate it for what it is the next generation learning.

  • @1etiole Perhaps, but there was a time when parents actually taught their children how to behave in the theatre. A few manners never hurt anyone.

  • im even embaressed for them.... theyve obviously never seen a ballet before

  • Gala afternoon for young audiences. I am delighted that they appreciate this art despite their noisy reaction to beauty. Thank goodness!

  • I am an old f***t, but I don't mind the screaming. I am so glad that they are there and not at some rock concert.

  • @palubob thank you you are so right. they are the future audiences. the utube ballet snob police cant handl screaming kids.......ooooooh no, lololololololol

  • @palubob YES IS BEAUTIFUL HAVE SOME PROVE THEY APPRECIAT BALLET NOWADAY

  • What a terrible racket. dont they know what decorum is ? It is grand they appreciate what the dancers are doing but the over the top response must spoil it for a general audience who can QUIETLY show there admiration. Reminds me of a Cuban audience the very reason why I did not go and see them when last in London..

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Guys its YAGP, you go to YAGP to loose your voice, the whole audience is filled with 12 year olds girls. Still its not proper.

  • stopped at 4:44... couldnt take the stupid ass ((tipically)american) screamin..

=Pon the other hand, it meant they enjoyed it anywayz.. thats what its about though..

  • NEVER SCREAM AT A PERFORMANCE!

    freakin clap

  • Wish those girls would shut up with the screaming every time someone moves. I swear if one of the guys on stage farted the audience would go crazy with applause.

  • @lasktguy beh! would be one original performance must say.

  • Ethan's variation does not belong there

  • jeez,they're so annoying! :S

  • mein güte ... man kann gutes auch mit der kreischerei kaputt machen

  • but he was good at coda..

  • slave's var. was sucks....what the fucks's that a lair' second turns~

  • That screaming! Absolutely horrendous[2]

  • Oh my gosh, the audience needs to shut up.

  • GOD THE SCREAMING!!!! SOO ANNOYING

  • @taki143

It actually prevented me from watching the entire performance......

  • @taki143 Now you know the pain of every figureskating fan over the age of 16! Its hours of skreetching 11year olds. If you didn't want to hear the music you'd wear ear plugs throught the whole damned thing! Jeeze its like a flock of drunken sea gulls! I'd really apreciate it if their parents told them how RUDE it is to scream like that. Its not a damned Miley Sirus concert!

  • ali variation was awful!! ethan gorgeous as usual!!

  • That screaming! Absolutely horrendous.

Never get this at the ROH, thank goodness.

  • I know, it's terrible! I could barely hear the music during the coda!!

  • its just a gala. and gala's are always like this at yagp.. its tradition

  • its tradition for the audience to be like this at gala shows, especially yagp!

  • her fouettes are a nightmare ...

  • I've tried very hard to enjoy Gillian's dancing over the years but she just doesn't please my eye. She's a powerhouse, no doubt, and I suppose it's amazing to be able to pirouette like her, but I get no joy at all from watching her.

  • @kdub10009

    same ...

    dont like her :(

  • Kdub10009: I agree with you, seeing this performance of Le Corsaire is nothing compared to Margot Fonteyn's peformance with Rudolph Nureyev I don't know if you ever saw them perfform this ballet it was just the two of them no other guy. It was simply amazing. I don't like Gillian murphy's performance. She is overated.

  • you can't compare dancers of so far generationes the thecnique improved too much.the tricks that in 61 only nureyeand few other were able to perform are today executed by every good dancers, and in old rudy fonteyn corsaire her coreography was semlplificated for her.let's stop comparation as rochy marciano vs mike tyson please.but if you like le corsaire watch the posted one of yuri soloviev,is out of time

  • @loveballet27 agree she is overrated imo also

  • beautiful

  • hahahaha

  • Magnífico!!! Fantástico!!!Perfeito!!!!!Lindos!!

  • That was soo beautifull *sniff *sniff

  • YGAP= Youth America Grand Prix

  • Had I been there I would have been tempted to smack some kids. Someone please tell me what YAGP stands for.

  • ok, el publico estaba enloquecido, jaja, me gustó mucho, que lástima que Gillian no hiciera la variación de Medora, pero me gustó mucho..:-)

  • To the guy who said Saveliev was awful that is just a stupid comment, he fucked up a pirouette, so what?! The second bit he did was fantastic, double revs everywhere and fantastic elevation in the menage

  • Just curious, why is Ethan Stiefel wearing Lankendem's costume when he's playing Conrad?

  • the guy doing he corsaire solo was pretty awful

stiefel is a great dancer but trying to look like a big russian doesnt suit him

  • no I agree with cormie mac 19 terrific revs and elevation

  • i would ask for my money back if i paid to see that

  • dude, let's see you try to be half as brilliant as they were

  • actually i could do the corsaire solo better, but thats not the point

if i paid money that ive worked hard for to see that,i would ask for it back!

  • l watched with more attention you are right about the pirouettes few controlled, much better the coda really lpowerful, and all that idiotic screaming is surely very bad for the concentration of a dancer

  • The screaming is indeed sophomoric, but Stiefel doesn't look distracted, he seems to love it. Watch how he looks right at the screamers and smiles after completing each phrase during his solo.

  • the crowd makes me sick !!!

sounds like the whole abt company in the auditorium

i dont think murphey suits this role well.she is the kind of dancer who will be perfect for an asthon or maccmillan ballet

hios solo was very thrown but he certainly ulled it together in the coda

  • urr what happened to you i cant send massage to you as before please try to write me i tried many time

  • I Love Watching Ethan ... he is really amazing .

But Why All This Screaming :S !!!!!! :D

  • shut up....

  • I'm surprised they could hear the music through all the screaming

  • haha, i wish i got to see ABT live with large groups of my friends when I was 12. Tho I doubt it affects the dancers negatively. They are trained to continue dancing even if a bomb goes off next to them on stage, so long as they themselves are not killed by the bomb. And since these are some of the most highly-regarded professionals around, I doubt they would be affected by any vulgarity in the audience.

I'd guess if anything Gillian was amused by 12-year olds cheering Ethan like that.

  • RELAX!! DUMMIES!!>. the screamiing.. its becausee... its a school performancee.. duur!!>. you've never performed beforee??... thats like every professional company does.. you do your official ones.. but before you might do couple ones to schools (we call them full custom/makeup rehearsals)....

so please dont give me that .."OOMG>. i cant stand that disrespectfull audience screaming and yelling".. .. you wishh.. they were cheering you ..

  • This is the YAGP Gala, and it seems that all the screaming has the potential of distracting the dancers. Eithan and Gillian did a wonderful job, but if they weren't the profressionals they are...yeah, I know the screamers' intentions aren't bad and they are aiming to flatter, but it's also disrespectful for the rest of the audience.

  • This audience has some hormonal problems. Is it normal in USA discipline in the theater like this?:))) It sounds like teeny rock concert. Very funny, but on other site sad too.

  • mta gritaria!

  • Murphy has corrected her habit of "Leaning to the side" on her fouettes(Though they creep up once in a while). A fouette done correctly stays in one spot and does not travel.

  • Ideally, yes. But show me one video of one ballerina where she does a series of fouettes and does not travel one way or another. Puh-lease!

  • Watch Alonso in the Black Swan. Here in YouTube.

  • I was next to one of these screaming little girls during this performance I'd have to smack one of them. So rude, crude and distasteful. Terrible.

This is why I HATE yagp gala performances. Too many little girls who can't stfu. Nothing beats a Met performance in Springtime.

  • OOOH It drives me CRAZY when people make noise at ballets! It also drives me nuts when they clap in inappropriate places too....like after every single dance set.

  • nothing wrong with generously acknowledging a press lift witha few claps. it doesnt hurt the performer to know that the audience recognized a certain trick or something

  • the dancing was beautiful but the constant screaming would have made me really angry if i were in the audience or performing on stage. i find that to be very disrespectful!

  • yeah...great dancing. but what about the screaming? it felt like some twelve year old where screaming even if only one of them appeared on stage...really weird

  • Ha ha, How is she the worst? I'd love to know.

  • simple while she has great technique this alone dose not give you good taste. she has not the greatest legs which i know its not important since many ballerinas dont have great legs yet still make wonders and its stupid to thin everyone is going to have legs like ferri. i dont wish to discredit her because she is a principal dancer it must be for a reason however i dont feel re represents the example of a ballerinas especially with those legs and arms i dont wanna sound mean just my opinion

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • Omg! It would be so hard for me dance like how Angel and Ethan did.

The screaming is very distracting you can hardly hear the music.

When your at ballet u clap! U can yell somthing like encore but just not to scream.

    This is very rude.

The ppl in Ny are spoiled with good ballet.

The video. Dance wise was Excellent thank u.

  • that was a great performance but the constant screaming is very rude in a ballet no matter how amazing the moves are

the fouettes were very clean but i have never seen her do 32 consecutive single fouettes at all

  • i heard in an interview that she was able to do the 32 fouettes at a very young age, so she always adds in a few doubles and triples to make it more interesting.

  • really??thats cool but for me i think the classic 32 fouettes are still more interesting

    :]]

  • ok, sure its so fun to see your favorite stars perform, but it's not a damned basketball game. I found the constant screaming to be rude and unthoughtful to the dancers onstage.

  • it's even worse when you're actually there. the stupid students have no respect for the dancers what so ever. i wanted to hurt somebody when i was there.

  • yeah, not to mention off putting to someone doing multiple fouettes.

  • 6:28 AMAZING O.O

  • wow that last pirouette was incredible

  • Ethan=Amazing!
