Reasonably good rendition. The vocalist should fall sharper on the notes because he constantly "slips" down 1/4 - 1/8 and not perfectly in tune. Secondly, I think the solo should better be played with a bottleneck (or at least this is the way Blackmore does). I know I am fussy :)

I am using the same firewire interface but have many pops and clicks problems when recording audio .what is the laptop used for this recording and the firewire card is it onboard or pci and its name pleas....

I am using my desktop. But you have to make sure you are using Texas Instruments chip-set on your fire wire card. Usually built in firewires are not that good. I bought separate PCI firewire card with Texas Instruments chipset and it's working fine.

SM87 is great vocal mic. Especially for female vocals.

Main difference between small and large diaphragm is that small one picks up smaller surface space and more of high frequencies, while large diaphragm picks up larger surface space with more low frequencies. Using both is probably best, but it depends what kind of sound you need to achieve.
