I've "experienced" both OP & JP live separately and together several times and have never failed to be emotionally drawn in by them and exhausted afterwards. Even took a Master Class from J.P. in '81 -just to get up close!
Even looking beyond the technical mastery, I've never (personally) seen any performers except perhaps Camaron, Julian Bream, Yehudi Mehuin and Ravi Shankar who absolutely themselves and "give out" like O.P. and J.P.
it ain't improvised....its scored! (that's why its exactly the same when he played it over many years/decades) ... I mean, check the ending....THAT'S not improvised...its scored.

Scored, improvised -- who cares? It's brilliant, swinging music, and that's what counts.

Yes, that solo is AMAZING - very reminiscent of his monster solo's on Sweet Georgia Brown.
RIP Oscar - thanks for you wonderful virtuosity and lyricism - there will never be another of your kind.

RIP Oscar

the solo from 6:00 to 7:35 is absolutely amazing. How is the last 30 seconds of that even humanly possible to improvise?
Further proof that Oscar Peterson is an alien.
