  • what do you weight them with? pennies? coins? fishing weights?

  • @T6LERC Sorry for the late reply; the ballast in this model is lead taken from melted-down fishing sinkers and secured to the keel.

  • @Rapidnadion o thats ok its still really cool

  • How do you get these models to float? i know that you have to weight them or something?

  • @T6LERC Yep - they need to be ballasted properly. Check out our facebook page for pics.

  • im sorry but i thumbs downed the video becuase i think u shouldnt recreated things where poeple had died

  • @specops987 what about war films, war reenactors, true story movies/plays/tv shows where people died? That's a rather bold and unnecessarily wide blanket statement to throw over all videos...

  • how do you make the models?

  • you should make a new one and put tiny furniture in it. and then put lifeboats on it and break it in half then tie it together so when you pull the string it breaks in half and also put the camera on it again. tat would be cool!

  • whoa it spins around O.o

  • How did you make it spin around? :\

  • @MalaFiumanka Already answered your question a month ago. It was an accident due to the current in the water at this location.

  • Put lights inside it and it'll look just like the Titanic sinking!

  • Wow! When it started the final plunge, it spun around! Question: How did you make

    it spin?

  • @MalaFiumanka That was a happy accident!

  • how can i get a titanic submersible model k bye gotta go to school cya

  • @historyfan1000 Thanks! Not a lot of people notice that "happy accident" during filming. I was pretty pleased, too.

  • it was excactly how it sank except it boke in half

  • awsome genius brilliant

  • COME ON, do the lit model now!! That would look brilliant.

  • and an electrical hazzard

  • To who, the fish??? Pfft!

  • lol 'the model is retrieved by a fishing line attached to the bow'. I wonder if they could lift the real one with a fishing line?? :p

  • Yes they could. now if only there was a large enuf crane and a longer line XD! and a bigger hook O_O

  • pretty perfect! especially the bit of hang time once it goes vertical.

  • Oooh....

The night of 14th-15th April 1912 was moonless though.

  • cant see it

  • Try a little darker the next time

  • lol

  • Lit model next time.

    You know you want to!

  • Cool

  • in licht van lantarenpalen zinkt model titanic naar bodem

  • How many titanics do u have or should i say have or had od wjat ever

  • that time the ship actually didnt rock back and forward

  • wow the stern acually rotated at the final plunge

  • Talk about a stroke of luck, right? Very glad someone picked up on that little bit of historical emulation -- I cannot take credit for it, unfortunately. It was a side-effect of the currents that night. Wish I could reproduce it every time.

  • o lol well ur lucky u got it on tape while it turned some luck huh?

  • that was really realistic, well done! could you possibly do a vid of it sinking in daylight? (just so we can get a good look at the model)

  • There are many of those -- just have a look at my other videos by clicking on my username. Thanks for the interest!

  • very nicely done, love your titanic vids.

makes me want to go and buy a model kit and try it myself :)

  • Do it! It's a real blast to watch when you've built it yourself.

    Thanks for the kudos!

  • and chance of a lusitania sinking

  • I've actually been thinking of doing that. It would likely have to be a one-time deal, though, as if I did it I'd have to replicate the torpedo explosion and the resulting fire.

  • If I may say so, this is the best of your titanic sinking videos.

  • You may indeed! Thanks very much!

  • how did u make compartments?

  • Plastic sheets cut to shape and held in place by waterproof caulk.

  • great vid wish i had a odel like that

  • Have you considered sinking this particular model during the day? Its very hard to see in this video.

  • Yes -- do a search for "Titanic composite" at Google video to see this model during the daytime.

  • Okay, so how did you get it to stay raised at the end? haha

  • Complicated buoyancy adjustments to the stern.

  • nice model.

  • Thanks!
