@PhDinExistence actually, its rude to turn your back to the crowd and shouldnt be done. lots of jazz players did that in their time and in certain cases would be acceptable such as trading 4's that werent talked about prior to playing that tune. If everything is played verbatim here from the album, then its a performance for the crowd and communication is minimal if everything is going well. The focus is the crowd and not each other which I think is proper.

essentially any time signature you can imagine "exists." it is simply that time signatures with the denominator as an odd number (like 7/3) become extremely difficult to count because your regular whole,half, quarter, eight note, etc., get really weird divisions of the beat.
