  • Omg, they're so beautiful. SO GONNA TRY THIS.

  • Thanks 4 the video!!! I think i'm gonna start a shio

  • pretty:D

  • i dont do metric...

  • @convsallstar Sorry - I sometimes forget that! The paper size you need is:

    35 x 25cm / 14 x 10 inches.

Or you can use any paper size in a similar ratio - basically a rectangle.

The tissue paper that we buy in Australia is at a standard size, and you can just fold it in quarters to get the perfect rectangle.

  • TISSUE PAPAAAAA

  • Thank you!!! Very easy and pretty :)

  • Thanks for this video

  • this is sooo beautiful, thank you so much. definately going to favorites :D

  • I Made One With Different Colors && It Came Out Amazing !

  • The flower are so pretty

  • Beautiful. We were taught to make these in kindergarten; I, however, ended up with a paper cigar! If only we had YouTube in the early 60's.

  • @catsnbirds10 Oh I love this!! Though I kind of think that we were able to find out lots of things just by experimenting and asking questions instead of going straight to YouTube. Though I do find it handy every time I go to cast on my knitting and I forget the way to do it! Much easier to YouTube than follow instructions in a book :)

  • Very nice! ;)

  • Awesome! I remember doing this in elementary school, thanks for reminding me :)

  • @trinh316 That's because you ARE British.

  • @Abbyneedsajob Nope, Australian! Though I lived in the UK for 1 year about 10 years ago... don't think it made much of a difference to my accent :)

  • you know whats weird, i saw the same exact thing on a little kid's show with the same color of tissue paper.

    ... HMMMMM ...

  • @quesorocks789 Yes, Paper Flowers are blooming up everywhere! I'm not surprised it was featured on a kids show as well - I learnt the technique from a kids book originally. My friend and I used it at a kids craft party that we hosted and used spray glue and sparkles to decorate the finished flowers - so pretty!

  • This looks amazing but simple as well so Im going to give it a try :D wish me luck

  • That's really pretty and nice and simple to follow :)

  • Picnik! :D

  • PICNIK!!!! :D

  • this video was so slow. it was like, "Get to the freakin next step already!" no joke!!

There is a lot more better videos!

  • @madison0013 That's so funny as I've had complaints that it's too fast!! With my limited technology skills I guess it is what it is :)

  • that is just so beautiful

  • very well done!

  • can you use this technique with cloth instead..??? loved the vid..

  • @Evaajaline I think fabric would be really cool - maybe you need to iron in the creases and pleats so it stays structural? Love to hear if you've given it a go!

  • love it love it love it, btw i love yours accent and 2btw my name is emma too

  • Awesome! Wow! !!

  • great job !! thanks for sharing :)

  • @alyssadelacruz84 Hi there, I'd like to make another real life video, but there are a few other good ones on YouTube that could help you out in the mean time!

  • The paper size I use is 35 x 25cm / 14 x 10 inches.

Or you can use any paper size in a similar ratio - basically a rectangle.

The tissue paper that we buy in Australia is at a standard size, and you can just fold it in quarters to get the perfect rectangle.

    Hope this helps!

  • wow thats well good!! im soo going to try that!! thankyouu :))

  • thanks so much!

  • i attached a stick down it and sprayed so perfume

    i was looking awesome

  • amazing amazing amazing! we will be making around 200 small flowers using this technique! Thank you! :D

  • @elianerizk5 Wow, good luck with your 200 flowers!!

  • The best thing about this is that its soooo simple yet the results are sooo beautiful ! Thanks !

  • wow!!! its just...the right use of tissue paper..hahaha!!!

    good day

    mark

  • it is beautiful, thanks

  • i love your accent

  • @lukkha1 Why thank you! That's lovely of you to say!

  • i love your accent !

  • How Many layers, of paper, is there in the beginning?? ;)

  • @QueenOfK1ngs I think there were about 9, if you want a fuller flower you can go up to about 12 pieces of tissue.

  • @emmamechtilde

    Thank youu:)

  • im doing this for mothers day yayyy

  • this was how i learned how to make flowers back in 2nd grade ^^

at least i think it was 2nd grade..it might have been during 3rd or 4th..

but yeah, that's how i was taught back in elementary school like..almost 10 years ago..

  • @DancinDream223388 Perhaps just watch the video again, it's hard to explain in words. When cutting the petal shapes you are snipping of both ends of the folded tissue paper at once. Good luck!

  • thanks i have no idea what to make my mom for mothers day and its tommorow so hopefully she will like it

  • @SmilyFace457 Oh I bet your mum will love your flowers!

  • @emmamechtilde she did thanks for your help :)

  • I did two different colors and it looks so pretty! I`m very proud of myself too...Thank you!!

  • Great video. I think it would be neat to wrap the string around pipe cleaners then wrap the pipe cleaner with green tissue paper or floral tape

  • @bebec Love that idea!

  • British accent just makes it sound even better!

  • @jwrsob Your comment made me chuckle - I'm actually from Australia, but perhaps I think I do put on a bit of a British accent when trying to talk clearly!

  • @emmamechtilde Really? I would have guessed New Zealand... lol though that is like a British/Austrailan type of accent =P

  • @emmamechtilde To me your accent sounds a little more New Zealand until you said package. Thanks for the vid

  • love it!! thanks!!

  • how pretty!

  • ohhh my heck. I made this in the colors green and pink and oh my oh my they were beautiful, Im gonna give it to my mom for mother's day! thanks for this amazing tutorial!

  • thank you very much!!!!

  • I was having a problem decorating a gift and found this....I think I used a bit to many pieces of paper so mine was a little fuller than i had expected but the end result was still a beautiful pink flower that fit perfectly on the gift :)

  • does it have to be tissue paper?

  • @ItsCinthia101 I've heard of people using fabric and crepe paper - no harm in trying other materials out!

Tissue paper is quite good because it creases well and then "puffs" out to create volume!

  • we used to make these using toilet paper for our floats in High school Boy, that was many years ago (40) when tp came in lots of colors. Love the size of yours and the brilliant color of the tissue paper. Thanks for bringing back memories! :)

  • @MizQnorth Glad to bring back old memories!

  • @MizQnorth We did that too. We just used white toilet paper though and spray painted them for the colors.

  • @MizQnorth Oh fantastic! Glad this took you for a trip down memory lane! I love hearing other people's memories of making flowers like these :)

  • Great! :)

how many pieces of paper did you use??

  • @xbirdyblue I used 7 pieces of paper - it depends how "full" you want your flower to be! Add more or less!

  • what about just crepe flowers can you do that?

  • fantastic video, thanks

  • Wow~, thanks!! this video is awesome!! I need that. that was frickin' easy!!! thanks XD

  • you rock !!

  • Thanks for this - I'm going to use the paper flowers as part of the place settings at my wedding reception. :)

  • @MsPeta1 Oh lovely!

  • is it the accordion fold that you do?

  • @searchlight11 Yes, it's accordian folding!

  • thank you so much i can't beleive how easy that was

  • I tried it for the first time and it came out better than what I thought it would. Thank you for the video.

  • It's wonderful congratulations!!! :D

  • @yasmarah09 yes it will look lovely with crepe paper :D

  • it's fantastic.great idea .

  • Very cute

  • Wow thannnnnk youuuu so much Now I can made many many flowers

  • Can you use a material other than tissue and will they have the same effect?

  • @torieharris96 The lighter and crisper the material the better... you can iron synthetic fabric into folds but it would have to be quite stiff to hold shape like tissue paper. Crepe paper works too... I think just trying it out and seeing what happens! A friend of mine made a giant one out of a green garbage/trash bag and it looked great!

  • SLC QUE golfa !!! eres lo maximo me salio ;]

  • i never new to do flowers that way before

  • So easey lov it!!!

  • I love how you say paper....: :) cool vid!

  • this craft was on the martha stewart site.. except she made 2 and connected them to make a whole flower and they were hung from the ceiling... pretty!!!

  • I love this technique! I study design and used this flower in an exhibition i made at school. It was easy to make and looks beutiful! <3

  • i used to make those flowers out of tissues in maths after id finished my work!

  • i made a tutorial on this too! but i dont have an accent... and my video is much longer

  • it's amazing...!!!!! :D

  • i made about 50 of these for my daughters barbie theme party in black pinks white purple and hung them outside in the patio area every one loved them soooo pretty great idea But just wish tissue was a little cheaper

  • Omg! I'm 10 years old and even this looks so easy to me! Well, you make it sound easy ;D

Thank you for showing us this tutorial!

    Sarah x

  • wonderful!!

i will go try this now :)

  • Thank you SO much! this video was a lifesaver...I cant thank you enough! :)

  • @allybum101 seriously..!!! it saved my life 2...!!! :D

  • thank you very much, this might help me bring the love of my life back.

  • hang it from the roof?!? haha

  • I love it. Thank you so much for this fabulous idea!! PS I say "paper" the same way as you" . Maybe it's because I'm Aussie lol ;)

  • I saw these while reading Fruits Basket

  • So pretty!!!

  • very beautiful. I am going to try this with my daughter tomorrow :)

  • I love this for Christmas gifts! I am making a bunch of red ones to pop on packages! lovely!

  • these are really pretty , going to have a go for parcels :o)

  • i love it n its soo easy to make...i m makin em for my wedding gift packin...thnku soo much emma

  • amazing!!!

    loved it lots!

  • I like the way you say "paper" :)

  • @MrsBeastSlayer6 I never knew I said paper so strangely!!

  • can i used crepe paper too?? to make paper flowers?

  • @yasmarah09 I think it could work - give it a go! It's a little bit thicker than tissue paper and harder to crease, but the effect might be quite nice!

  • nice flower.. but it could have been better if you demonstrated it urself..

  • @MsPrettiePrincess143 I agree! Sadly I didn't have a buddy to film me that day :(

  • @MsPrettiePrincess143 if you want to watch someone doing this go on the simplekidscrafts video of the 'Colourful Tissue Paper Flower' :)

  • Would you be able to apply the same idea to fabric flowers......i wanted same effect with tulle. I'm making fairy costumes for my daughters.

  • WOW !! THAT IS AWESOME :) THANKS GALSS

  • this is so awesome your video is really easy and instructive good job

  • can you use different colors too???

  • @MSPOTATOEHEAD1 Different colours are a great idea!

  • @emmamechtilde I GAVE ONE TO MY BFF AND SHE LOVED IT I USED THE COLORS GREEN AND YELLOW

  • I like it.It's quick way to make.

    Thax.

  • Thank you! I loved it!

  • myn folded out again into paper lol but i wrote the steps down now i can practec eny time

  • AMAZING! i made mine quite small because the first time it was too big compared to the roses i made and it took up the entire vase! this works amazing!
