  • You probably have learned a lot of the answers to the "things you don't know" So I am going to say. If you or anyone else buys a new expensive toy. READ THE DIRECTION/INSTRUCTION MANUAL. it has all of the answers to those type of things. Nice Camera. good video, I have the silver.

  • when you get it right out of the box can you take tuns of pics and video, or do you have to buy a memory card?

  • @McConstruction1 this camcorder has no internal memory, so you need to get an SD card before you can take any pictures/videos.

  • i just bought one today. does it really take a couple hours for the battery to charge?

  • @fallingup90 yes, like any other electronic, the battery takes a few hours to charge.

  • Something small and tiny and thin to push the reset button, eh? Justin, get over here!

  • @TheIrelandish I think it would be easier to use the bottom if a pencil/pen xD

  • cant you make it 720p in the menu section

  • @largepandabutt no, this is a standard definition camcorder

  • @anna2bad4

does the camera come with a remote

  • @MrGQ619 nope

  • would this have good quality indoors?

  • @largepandabutt I like your username :P

the quality indoors is good but I think with this camcorder it looks best outdoors.

  • @anna2bad4 also were are som places u can get this?

  • @bailey333100 you can buy it anywhere, almost. (I got mine at Future Shop) anywhere that has lots of consumer camcorders, you'll most likely find it.

  • @bailey333100 AMAZON

  • the pic a number comment was to @anna2bad4

  • so pic a number 1-10 on how good it is and how much u like it. 1 is bad and 10 is is the best

  • @bailey333100 sorry i just have to anwsner u. i give it a 9 cus its not HD

  • @bailey333100 well, ta rating would be based on a lot of things. (quality, zoom, sound quality...etc) I think, for the price, it's a great camcorder. I would give it an 8 on 10. but that's just my opinion.

  • I have a macbook pro and it won't recognize my camera in Imovie it will show its there but won't pull up the upload screen any help?

  • @Skerman207 sorry, I don't have a mac, I wouldn't know.

  • @Skerman207 take out the hdhc card out and put it in your card reader and then try

  • @atlantafan233 another thing is that since this camcorder is standard definition, the sd holds more. for example, if I put an 8 gigabyte SD card into an HD camcorder it might hold.....60 minutes I think. but with this camcorder, the exact same SD card holds about 120 minutes.

  • @atlantafan233 personnaly, I prefer it when the camcorder has no internal memory unless it's SSD. HDD (hard drive disk) holds more but has moving parts and doesn't work well on say, a rollercoaster or low or high temperature. and hard disks die after a while. SSD (solid state drive) has no moving parts so you can bring it onto a rollercoaster or high/low temperatures without messing it up. SSD is also more expensive. I'd say, personnaly just go with SD cards, like this camcorder.

  • @anna2bad4 2:23 did you mean 70x not 60x lol it says it on the camcorder

  • @zjrlegomovies He actually addressed that in the video had you been listening.

  • @zjrlegomovies it's 70x extended zoom, which is 60x optical zoom.

  • Is this camera easy to use with Windows Movie Maker?

  • @motorhead1 Windows Movie Maker doesn't support they're kind of files. I don't know why. WMM doesn't usually support camcorder files. But there are other video editors that are pretty simple to use like WMM. I used to use Cyberlink Powerdirector. If you're going to use Cyberlink Powedirector, get a free version (very easy to find) because I don't think it's worth it's price, it's good but not worth it's price. If you are going to use it, you just have to find a serial key anywhere.

  • @anna2bad4 Do you have windows 7? cus more files can be used with the new Movie maker

  • @largepandabutt no, sorry, I don't have Windows 7

  • @anna2bad4 o thats the reason with Windows "LIVE" movie maker. It supports most every file

  • Why not buy a kodak HD sport?

This sony is a flash cam. I would go with HD.

  • @Ibringthetruth1 HD and SD aren't very big leaps. And you're also comparing 2 different types of cameras.

  • how do you import videos from the camcorder to the computer?

  • @OrionPR1M3 you can either use the USB cable of the SD card. if your computer has no SD card slot, take the USB cable, attach it to the little one on the camcorder and plug it into your comuter. if your computer has an SD card slot, put it in.

  • thanks for the video. i'm thinking about getting this one.

  • thanks for the video. I'm getting this for the family reunion.

  • Can u record everything on your tv. As in capturing some tv shows and gameplays??

  • Which better: That or Bloggie touch??

  • I got one today dude but the colour is silver and its super awesome but a shame it doesnt support HD recording but everythings awesome.

  • Hi, I have that camcorder and had a question. I have the record mode (rec. mode) set for HQ, but when i download a video to my computer, it was in 480p. This is a 720HD camcorder, right? I have NO idea how to get the thing to shoot in 720HD! Please help me!!! Thank you.

  • @Ryanheet on your video editor on the render settings put it on 1080 HD so you have better quality

  • does it record in MP4.

  • @seahawkboy44 I`m not sure...I don`t think so.

  • @anna2bad4 It shoots in (.mpg)

  • @seahawkboy44

i believe it records in mpeg-2

  • @chemwar thanks!

  • thanx for the video, i'm thinking of buying this one, how much did you pay for it? i wanna use it for recording outside, like when i'm skating with my brother or playing ith my dogs outsides, do you reccommend it for that? thanx again

  • @Marco7DelPiero You're welcome. I paid around 214$ (Canadian). I personnaly think that they record nicer in the outdoors. I made an outdoor test video you might want to check out. I can't send the link via comment, but it's on my channel :)

  • Hi anna2bad4, i see that these camcorders come with a built in usb cable but i didn't see you explain what and where its location is, can you answer this question for me?

  • @survivormate hey ! look closely at 3:57 you see the cord. it's hidden inside :D

  • @shadowspsp haha yes. I forgot to mention that in the video. It's a little USB cable. If you plug it into a computer it charges only. The camcorder comes with an adapter which puts it into another USB, which, if you plug that one in, I'm not sure if it charges, but you'll be able to transfer your videos/pictures.

  • i was at wal mart today, on the information thing, it says that it is a 720p hd camcorder...

  • @SmoothWheels it's not. it's a standard definition camcorder. I see tons of mistakes like that about it. If you don't trust me, that's okay, check it out on Sony's website.

  • What kind of card do you recommend? I just got one yesterday and it did not have a card.

  • i got this camera and it's great i recommend it to anyone! (even travellers)

  • does ti focus?

  • @001Helena it automatically and manually focuses.

  • can you hook up an external mic to it? such as rhode audio.

  • How is the video quality like when you watch it on TV or computer? Are the colors displayed on TV bright and vibrant?

  • @bublubhuyan I'm not sure about TV but I think computer's pretty good.

  • can u do a video of you filming like a computer screen with the camera?

  • @TobiJohn1221 I didn't really understand that, you want me to video tape my computer screen with the camcorder? If that's what you meant, sure. But, why use a camcorder to film your screen when you can use computer programs like Hypercam 2.

  • Comment removed

  • @TobiJohn1221 okay I'll post one when I get a chance. Probably in the next 1,2 or 3 days.

  • @anna2bad4 lol, i meannt to type but you dont have to post it.

  • @anna2bad4 sorry, i meant to type you dont have to post it.

  • The only thing that really bugs me about this camera is the fact that you cannot PAUSE the recording, only start it and stop it.... that way you can end up with tons of clips... but, it´s a really good camera :)

  • nice review just a question, can you take all the clips that you filmed and save them to your computer?

  • @JohnPwns12 Yes, you can. :)

  • can you put different lenses on it

  • @UnLucky7Musik yeah, as long as they're 37mm.

  • Thanks for the great review. However, you way overpaid. this camera is about $215 at Walmart. Why did you pay $100 more?

btw, how does this camera's video work with Mac computers and Final Cut Pro? I have had no trouble using my Sony Cybershot video. However I do have to convert the mpeg files to .mov files using MPEG Streamclip.I would continue to use the Cybershot if it hadn't crashed and burned. In the video mode, the camera crazily switches modes and drops out of record at will.

  • @shesafunnygal I don't think I was overpaid. I bought the camcorder at Future Shop when it had just come out. It was 280$ plus tax which came up to 314$. I'm also in Canada :) So things are a bit more expensive. I'm not so sure about Final Cut Pro. I don't use those kinds of programs. I also only have a PC so I'm not sure what would happen with a Mac. I've also never used Sony Cybershot Video. Sorry I'm kind of useless with this kind of stuff. Try contacting Sony from their website maybe.

  • 6:40 this is mini usb port witch used to transfer data to your computer.

  • @ShaCRaM thanks :)

  • @anna2bad4 3:27 AV receivers or audio-video receivers are one of the many consumer electronics components typically found within a home theatre system. Their primary purpose is to amplify sound from a multitude of possible audio sources as well as route video signals to your TV from various sources.

  • Thxx man i was thinking about buying it

  • can u put lens like opteka fisheye 0.43x an baby death lenes

  • @EnJoiGuAm the lens diameter on this camcorder is 37mm. It's threaded so yes you can. I have a fisheye lens for it and it works. As long as it's 37mm I don't see why it wouldn't work.

  • What did you use to record this video?

  • @DanieliusTV Samsung HMX-H100

  • Does it come with memory card and tripod?

  • @WHODOESNTFART no, it comes with a tripod mount, not a tripod. It doesn't come with a memory card, only SD card slot. which you can put sd card slots into.

  • nice speech inpediment

  • @AHthefarther listen, I know I stutter sometimes and I have a real hard time pronouncing ch's, sh's and j's but that's not my fault. I'm aware of the fact that it sounds retarded but I try hard. But then again, this is a camcorder review, not a video of how awesome my speech is. If you have any questions about the camcorder, let me know, but my speech really has nothing to do with it.

  • it is HD

  • @FilmItThenUpload no, actually it's a standard def camcorder.

  • @anna2bad4

Mate, It's in the argos catalouge and states it is HD

  • @FilmItThenUpload well, everywhere I look it's standard def. If you go on the Sony website, it's in the standard def section. I don't know maybe your catalog made a mistake? :S

  • thanks soooo much for the review. good job!

  • Thank dude I was look for a camcorder that wasnt expensive and wasnt cheap. But now i know this is the one for me. One question is it HD too?

  • @BlackBountyCA no, unfortunately it's not HD, it's SD. It goes to 480p. HD is 720p, which is only one step ahead, HD and SD are not a big leap at all. You still get a great video. If you want to see for yourself, check out my test video, the link is in the description. The only reason that this video is in HD is because I used my editing software, Cybelrink Powerdirector 8, to upload it and there was an HD option. Hope this helped :)

  • @anna2bad4 sorry, by "this video" I meant the test video, not this one.

  • How do I change it to manual focus mode and how do I adjust the focus?

  • @YourMomBakesPies when you turn on the camcorder, tap on the main screen and you'll see a little menu button pop up on the top left corner, click it. That will show you your basic menu, click on the bottom left button that says "show others". That gives you your entire menu. If you scroll down only one time, you'll see an option that says "focus", click on it. Then from there you can click "auto" or "manual" and adjust it. Hope this helped. :)

  • @anna2bad4

    It did. Thank you :)

  • Im thinkinh about buying this for my mam and dads anniversary present. Ive been comparing camcorders for ages now .. but ive had my sight on this one for longest. So many to choose from :/

  • I really liked your review and will I more than likely buy this camer now, but in blue :)

  • @cocokrysp thanks :) I still think it's a great camcorder
