The best way to counteract the burn is to take habanero chili seeds and vigorously rub them in your eyes.

Use baby shampoo and water to rinse . To reduce the pain stay away from sunlight and stay in a cool, shaded area and face the direction of the wind if possible...the wind will crystallize the oc and almost completely stop the burning. After it crystallizes, it will still reactivate when exposed to moisture, but it will let you flush it out of your eyes and off your skin at your own pace.

If you are doing this on purpose have a medic standing by. Some people have allergic reactions that can cause death. They will swell up and suffocate to death while in extreme pain even with mild pepper spray. Not funny.

First, MILK!! Pour some over the face to cool it a bit. Then soapy water (little bit of dish soap 25% to 75% water) to wash off the oils. It may spread a bit if you wipe, so best to have a lot of it (a few gallons) and keep making fresh bowls to dunk your face into and let the soap break it down. You can do milk rinses in between to soothe the burn a bit. Anyway you're not going to be feeling too good for about an hour, but hopefully you can bring down the intensity of the burn.

Having said that I still prefer the fog spray, the small particles are inhaled causing more disruption in the repertory system. The one and only time I had to use it the guy was in a panic just from not being able to breathe. Also with the cone or fog spray your aim can be less than perfect and you will still hit your mark.

I haven't tried the Wildfire gel but I have seen other brands used. The gel can be VERY effective and the advantage is that you don't have the particles in the air which is better in close quarters or if you need to move in to restrain the person. I have heard accounts of officers tagging fleeing subjects in the back of the head with the stream spray and it still dropped them.

I can vouch for wildfire. I used it to stop an assult and it droped him instantly and he was screaming like a woman. I use the fog or cone spray (walk backward after spraying)
