@bedwelldawson Now that's unfair. That whole last part of the race, Dale Earnhardt was defending the top 3 spots for his cars. When he got stuck three wide, Sterling was there. He had the position and Earnhardt chopped him. It was not anybody's "fault" what happened on that day. As with any fatal crash, it was a series of events that lead up to one tragic moment. To put blame on one driver is unfair.

@MidniteHaze1 the fin didn't break up the pack, it actually put more drag on the car and created a huge closing rate, the Florida sun and the wore out Daytona track made handling a premium which spread the pack out.

It's funny that in the starting grid, all the 3D rendered cars had no sponsors, except for #8-Earnhardt Jr., #5-T. Labonte, #28-Rudd, #88-D. Jarrett, and #9-Elliott, because they had logos that FOX payed for (Budweiser, Kellogg's, Havoline-Texaco, UPS, and Dodge respectively).

Why did Bodine withdraw? I miss Nascar Classics for the old races I don't see them anymore. I wish I got to see Earnhardt race. My first race I saw one day was I was flipping threw the commercials and it was the end of the Talladega race about 40 seconds before Bobby Labonte flipped over. I was hooked since.

It's obvious from watching this race that Dale Earnhardt was still at the top of his game. He very nearly won the race too, but lost to Tony Stewart, also an excellent driver and who also had a better car.
