This is why the U.S. is going down the tubes. Non pun intended. We've got millions of young people doing non-constructive, non-value adding crap. How can this improve the country? It's no wonder the value of a U.S. dollar is slipping away.

Exactly, you don't "think" b/c it's not obvious. Why don't you imagine for one second that a majority of this countries youth is pissing their life away with video games, tv, youtube...etc. This country would be much better off if this same youth were devoting that time a science or technology degree. But it's a known fact that the U.S. is falling way behind in this regard.

Oh, it's not a community where the most insecure of social groups (Nerds and Geeks, if it wasn't obvious enough) can feel supported, loved, and like they belong. And it's absolutely ridiculous to suggest that having a community willing to support each other through hard times and have a freaking BLAST doing it is actually CONSTRUCTIVE. It's a community of GEEKS and NERDS. Hank is an ECOLOGIST, and John is an AUTHOR. NERDFIGHTERS ARE CONSTRUCTIVE. There's your explanation.

Again, not seeing how a couple of nice guys actually does anything for this country. You can be the nicest guy in the world and supportive to your friends, which I think is great, but at the end of the day, it doesn't anything for the tangible for this country. We need more youth dedicated to learning real skills, technology, engineering, and science.

A lot of the youth that watch these "couple of nice guys" are very interested those "real skills". And it's these guys that help them to feel better and more confident about being interested in those things. Just because they don't fit your view of a direct help, they are very much an indirect help to what you feel is important "real" skills.

As a 17-year-old who watches John and Hank, I would like to politely say that you're wrong. They continually encourage Nerdfighters to make a difference in the world. We have formed a community of people who support each other and realize that it's important to be intelligent and help others. That's why we're NERDfighters.

Look at the Project for Awesome. They got hundreds of Youtubers to support charities on their videos. These guys are a positive influence in a sea of negative ones.

I'm glad I found the Nerdfighters community, even if I did stumble across it rather late.
