I don't understand.
Most smartphones have landscape (widescreen) mode. Why is this special?

this phone has WVGA (Wide Video Graphic Array) so its resolution is ajusted to widescreen..
the difference is like you take a 19" widescreen monitor and set it's resolution to 1024x768 (wich is a square screen) instead of 1440x900 (widescreen)
