  • This is Hitchens exaggerated. Funny, but definitly not Hitchens.

  • lol I bet if he heard this he would be laughing too hehe we miss you hitch

  • i'm a hitchens fan, and i imagine the impressionist is as well. lighten up you autists.

  • A demonstration of the fact that comedy gold and conservatism are antithetical, and that humor from Bible school students is about as entertaining as clipping one's toenails--and requires roughly the same amount of intellect.

  • Sounds more like Bill Nighy.

  • Not Christopher. All of you who think his cadence and rhythm is similar are wrong.

This is some bored college student.

    Guaranteed.

  • Yes - I think the voice itself sounds perhaps more like Peter Hitchens though the phrase and mannerisms are exactly of Christopher Hitchens. Very funny!

  • Fucking hilarious! "He completely destroyed western civilization!" And I'm a fan of the Hitch.

  • OMG. Of course it is not a perfect impression! It's an american comedian having fun on a podcast. James adomian is brilliant. And to an american ear, I've got one, we aren't surrounded by people speaking english dialect, this sounds close enough to be hilarious.

  • Other than the sound of the voice... SPOT. ON. AWESOME! loved it!

  • This is pretty funny. I had a good laugh listening and I this Hitchens would laugh also.

  • hahahahahahahahaha

  • hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha

    AWESOMENESS

  • I love Hitchens, but this is fucking funny. Good stuff. Exactly like him (bad accent aside).

  • WTF!? Abe Lincon was president of America before he was born?

  • When did Christopher Hitchens develope a Liverpool accent?

  • 1:48

One of the better parts of the impression.

  • this just isn't very good

  • "The horseshoe look of their teeth in submission to my wit"...ok, I thought this was fairly mediocre up until then, but that's pretty funny. And Hitch (the real one, only, please) can see my horseshoe teeth any time.

  • lol @ "the general thrust of my oeuvres"

  • It's a funny idea, but the accent doesn't work for this.

  • "Is there anything more embarrassing than an American emulating a British accent?"... how about someone taking a silly bit of comedy way too seriously? honestly.

  • Is there anything more embarrassing than an American emulating a British accent? Oh, and nobody has flown airplanes into building on instructions from Valentine's day dick ray radio. (And we pronounce it crett - inn not crete - inn you cretin)

  • @SpellboundSolution Olivier trying an American accent.

  • lmao @ the last minute about women.

  • This isn't funny

  • @njabulani ill take ur word for it. i stopped listening about 10 seconds in.

  • This is absolutely hilarious! I agree with some of the other comments here. He sounds to me like a hybrid of Christopher and his brother Peter. The tone of his voice sounds like Peter, but the cadence and the things he says are dead on with Christopher. Very well done! Thanks for posting this!

  • That's not Hitchens at all. And it's not funny.

  • @LaTortuga07

It is an impression. Fucking hell, man.

  • This is pretty funny. I do like Hitchens, but this is a good impression. The voice isn't great, but the actual things he says are uncanny.

  • Talking just like Hitchens, but doesn't sound much like him. Hilarious nonetheless.

  • A valiant attempt but to the british ear it sounds more like Lloyd Grossman. Someone else commented on the mispronounciation of words like cretin. Nice idea but not well executed. Might have been better scripted, this quy is not articulate enough in impro to get near to Hitchens.

  • Hitchens wins at life.

  • Sounds like a random college kid talking deeply through a bad microphone.

  • Haven't stopped laughing....

I'm a big Hitchens fan, and this is a masterly parody.

  • Not too bad actually.

  • You have to talk over people more.

  • that's brilliant! surely Christopher would pronounce Cretin as CrEtin and not CrEEton. As he's from English public school it would be pronounced like "settin"... crettin. Anyway, I love the stutter and pretty much all of this... absolutely brilliant!

  • I think the cough and the stutter are the best parts.

  • roflllllllllllllllllllll fucking great.

  • lame

  • also, 'i have a very important point to make' he has simply never said

  • this is fantastic.

however, he doesn't really say 'perversion'. apart from that and the voice, this is utterly spot on

  • lol ... I think even Hitchens would laugh at this

  • Unfunny. Totally misses the point.

  • this is actually really funny, think hitchens would like it alot.

  • Try VoobyMovies, ccm I Just Finished Watching the comedy "Year One" for free

  • Brilliant! Comedy Radio and how it poisons everything!

  • The voice is way off but the mannerisms are pretty accurate. And the dialogue was quite funny.

  • 1:30, the cough is perfect.

  • I would have expected: "Name me some backdoor action --or a male appendage taken... that could have not been carried out or taken by an omnisexual eunuch"

  • @coolbluesman "that could have not been carried out or taken by an omnisexual eunuch"

    Wonderful!! Hilarious.

  • I can't work out who the target audience for this is supposed to be.

  • this sucked, sounded nothing like Hitch nor came even close to capturing his sophistication...besides I have no respect for people who'd make fun of an intellectual heavy-weight like him.

Its easy to make fun of a caricature-if they wanted to make fun of him on fair terms they should've let him come on and defend himself, I'm sure he'd rip them to shreds with his razor sharp wit.

  • I am a Hitch fan and I so needed this. It takes away his rhetorical charms and shows him for what he really is; an arrogant and closed-minded man. We definitely need him to keep the radical theocrats at bay. But, gosh, Hitchens' absolutist worldview is just as dangerous (remember his position on Iraq?).

  • @theoyakah Don't call yourself a fan of Hitchens when in the next sentence you insult him.

  • Comment removed

  • @theoyakah Ever heard of duplicity? You're practicing it right now and your statements contradict each other. Actually that would mean I might be talking to a schizophrenic in which case there's no point arguing with you.

  • @theoyakah "an arrogant and closed-minded man" ?

    arrogant at times ok

but closed-minded? What are you english/americans always talking about closed or open minded? What good is it to think something could be true or not? If you something on a topic you are not open minded anymore.

open minded means: you know nothing about a specific topic.

Hitch rules, even if he has sometimes the opposite worldview (i.e iraq)

  • Comment removed

  • this sucks

  • sounds nothing like hitchens.

  • LOL and quite a bit of work has gone into this.

  • I love hitches, but this is pretty good

  • yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn

  • 1:15 I laughed because of the awkwardness. :-)

  • The primary interviewer sounds more like Michael Shermer than the guest sounds like Hitch.

  • This really wasn't funny at all.

  • not good either

  • not good either

  • not bad

  • I could do 10x better. This is sort of bad, in fact.

  • You guys need to lighten up. I thinks Hitchens is awesome but I thought this was pretty funny actually.

  • terrible impression

  • Hm. This is silly.

  • Americans just can't do an English accent. For one thing, he wouldn't say "creet-in".

Parody is a fine form of comedy, but absent an understanding of what is being mocked makes it farce and instead the comedian becomes the object of amusement.

It's like Hitchens if you removed all intelligence, irony and wit. Virtually nothing left. Reminds me of the absurd portrayal of Richard Dawkins in South Park.

  • @theinquisitor

How would an Englishman say "cretin?"

  • @alizee2010, the "e" part wouldn't sound elongated as it is in a word like "meet", but would be short, as in the word "met".

  • Total shit

  • sounds much more like his bro. still why try, how strange.

  • The more I listen to this the more I love it, lol. It's actually really well written.

  • hahahah, this is hilarious, but it does sound more like Peter Hitchens.

  • crap, not funny and sounds nothing like him. mostly because idiots can't fake intelligence.

  • I love hitchens, and don't mind comedy done at his expense....there's a lot to make fun of with regard to him..

But the reality is this just isn't that funny.

  • Talks like Christopher but sounds like his brother

  • really bad impression... I could do better.

  • I guess this is april fools.

  • LOL the words and pacing are dead on very hitchens

the voice is off a bit tho

  • @prodigy00073 a bit off, are you fucking high.....elmo sounds more like hitchens then this cunt

  • this sounds exactly like his brother.

  • He sounds more like Peter Hitchens

  • @DailyHitchens

Does he have the Peter Hitchens unibrow?

  • @alizee2010 ?! No, he doesn't.

  • @DailyHitchens Yeah, I'd say it's not that good.
