I feel that a person never really is cured of PTSD only that they learn new coping skills to live with the disorder. Many people to include soldiers do not seek help because of a fear of being labled. Some drink alcohol smoke dope etc, to escape realatity. They are only prolonging the disorder or delaying the treatmentGrp theraphy works for many. In some a catagory of people ie Vietnam Vets, like experiences are shared and methods of coping are explored and adapted. Not eveythng works for al
@dustoff11m I got Post-traumatic stress disorder since i was abused as child, ive try'd old and modern medicine to lower my thought and flashes i get daily. Nothing worked, Ive try'd pot when going out whit friends and it brought me rest in my spirit and when i feel sad i smoke weed and write down why i feel sad, so youre conclusion aboud escaping is not a good one.
To darklordsbabzy, you are 100% correct, it does not only occur in soldiers and soldiers not in combat can have PTSD. It is a human response to a real threat of harm, danger, threat etc. I knew a man that was in the Army never was in Vietnam but had PTSD service connected. He was in a sitution in Germany where someone opened fire on them with a machine gun.. ..
It may be that a variant of traditional PTSD will be defined to cover cases in which the victim's life was not actually threatened or the victim felt threatened, as a child might.
@Darklordsbabzy yes!! i totally agree! i have ptsd, but has NOTHING to do with me being a soldier lol... i've never even served. im tired of this being a soldier or war thing! but great videos
my uncle came back from Nam with PTSD. he's still not the same. they tied a VC to a tree and took a slice out of him every hour until he gave up info. He never talked and they cut his throat. my unc still has nightmares of getting his throat sliced
i was told i have ptsd not funny to have nightmares cold sweats the meds they put you on can help to a point but you can never repair what is damaged it sticks to the back of the brain and never leaves
