My mom's birthday is coming up in November and I was hoping to make her a special cake with fondant. She said she took cake-decorating classes and that it was very hard to work with, but the lady in the video said it was easy and like modeling clay. I was thinking it would be pretty easy, can anyone tell me what to do? I know you experienced people are out there! Also, are sugar sheets the same thing as fondant? I have made these a much simpler way and they turn out great. Set the entire doll (no clothes on) down in the hole of a bundt cake which has been frosted. Use your icing bag and seashell designs from the bodice down and continue to build around the cake, making it as large or billowed as you want it. Use different colors for petal flowers and leaves randomly on the dress. this way the entire doll is 'dressed' plus her hair does not touch the cake.
