I am going on this exact aircraft G-DHJH today on a flight from manchester to rhodes in greece. I was mean to be going on a 757-200 but thomas cook has changed the aircraft cos the flight the 757-200 id doing is delayed by 4 hours. So at 21:05 tonight i will be departing on this aircraft :D.

Mostly likely due to noise abatement regs at Manchester pilots are discouraged from high throttle takeoffs and the airline may be fined for excessive noise.

Those Are CFM Engines On G-DHJH, I Flew On It In Oct 07 As MYT195.

yeah those are IAE V2500 engines not CFM 56-5. they sound and look a lot different.

They are CFM56-5B3/P engines on the Mytravel (Thomas Cook) A321 fleet.

The IAE V2500-A1 is fitted on the A320 fleet.

they use both kinds. jetblue uses IAE i know for sure. the CFM engines are higher pitches in the spoolup then lower at full power

No, they're CFM56 5B, IAE V2500 sounds a lot different, IAE's sound like RB211's Exterior, I should know 'ThepowerofGE90', I can fly planes.

The sound when they take off and the sound in the air is very cool.

I remember when we took of from Gardermoen, Norway to Mallorca for 2 weeks ago. It was the same sound and the same plane!

i reckon boeing ltd is much better than airbus ltd, coz boeing have built the classics ie, 747s, 707s and 727s. airbus haven't really built and planes that are classic at all!

the only thing you will hear on take off is the gear going up and the engines changing pitch and of course the flaps going up. If they engines do stop the aircraft wont just fall out of the sky its designed to glide for up to 1 hour. Plus the wings arnt just tapped on there secure and designed to flex in the wind. My travel are lovley they will take care of you. Just think how many aircraft are flying everyday all over the world and how often do you hear about a fatality?
