  • The Seekers will always be amazing.

Their music is wonderful and timeless.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • This is mt favorite Seekers song. It speaks to a lost love that I hope I will meet again

  • Love! Oh, how much I miss you.... :(

  • Thanks!!

    Nice Song!

  • saw them in australia at the opera house.... beautiful group always a fond memory

  • I was born when The Seekers were in their prime. They have such a great sound and harmony. Judith's voice is crisp and beautiful.

  • the best australian export ever.............ever

  • A Jamieson Note: Refer to: Benny Goodman - And the Angels Sing.

    Martha Tilton and Ziggy Elmen.

Mannie Klien at trumphet. Ziggy passed. Marha Tilton at vocals.

"You smile and the angels sing...although it's just a gentle murmur at the start."

    For love & adventure,

& a great title for a romance film,

    Jamieson (Peter)

  • A Jamieson look at love: "Far Shore" - is a romantic love song - "as waves break on some undiscovered shore"..."the angel's sing"...and leave the music of young love in the beat and eternal rhythms of lover's hearts. "Yes, I'll see you on the far shore. I know I will." Refer to J. Durham's: "All I Can remember, Memories, Again & Again and Always there".

With heartfelt love for adventure and the sound of lover's in love,

    Jamieson (Peter)

  • Yes, i will see my wife again who jut died , on the far shore.

  • such a stunning voice. such a poignant song, too... about someone who misses someone who meant a lot to her, and never expects to see that person in this lifetime again.

  • Lovely! I have the irresistable impulse to hug Judith and give her a kiss.

  • Thanks from this Canuck for all your up lifting comments about this exceptional group.

  • @alleycat30ful You're welcome,they deserve every word.Their songs mean a lot to me as well :-)

  • wonderful voice of Judith Dur.. they dont sing like this anymore, marvelous singer marvelous band¬¬¬ thanks for posting this /xx

  • Poignant and uplifting all at once; the magical Seekers. Thanks, Proculled, for providing us with yet another little piece of heaven on earth. Unfortunately, this track isn't on the 2007 version of the Ultimate Collection CD (which was part of my Christmas present from my wife triggered by your uploads, as previously mentioned: no harm in repeating the plug? Proculled's uploads = increased sales!!).

  • @vohor1 Yes it wonderful to see how much love there is for them still after 45 years. As I've written above Far Shore is on the 2003 Ultimate Collection together with Massachusetts.Number on CD is 7243 594491 2 8 and was released in Australia.I think time will show that youtube videos have led people to discover and rediscover

them.Where else can people come over them and want to buy their music.

    Proculled

  • this is bliss

  • God I miss you Teresa r-i-p

  • Judith Durhama Forever !!

  • Love this song and group..RWB

  • Judith=majic pure majic

  • she has a just brilliant voice

  • great positive song and performance

  • When The Seekers first appeared on the UK pop scene in 1965 with "I'll Never Find Another You", I was then 14 years of age. I recognised even then that Judith Durham's voice was special, but i never realised just how special. Nowadays, i would regard Judith's singing talent as matched only by one or two late opera singers like Maria Callas or Lucia Popp. One thing i do know is pop music will never find another Judith. Never! No chance!!!.

  • Oira hermosa cancion de este grupo y,como siempre, destacando nitidamente la voz de Judith Durham.

  • Nice Song!!

  • I Want Revenge! bit . ly/jerku

  • Simply beautiful! hopeful, uplifting and timeless. God bless them. This is as close to heaven you'll get here on earth.

  • @carl22069, I think it is a digital remaster of a song from earlier in their career!

  • @huppypuppy The song was made and releases as single CD in 1997, as part of a deal with EMI, that included a couple of albums

  • A megszokott gyönyörű zene és ének, Judith utánozhatatlan !!!!!!!

  • Now with the Seekers going on a tour with Andre Rieu in October maybe the far shore will turn out to be North America.

  • fast moving song with legs

  • great song school band played it and my bf did the first part on his sax

  • The most remarkable characteristics of Judith and the Seekers is that they genuinely enjoyed being with each other. Their greatest joy was playing and singing music together. Their personalities were genuine and sincere. For me, that was most important in enjoying a song. Other groups had good singers and there were good solo singers, but they had unhappy lives. The Seekers spoke joy whereever they went and whenever they sang.

  • I saw the Seekers last nite on PBS here in Florida. I am a 55 man with a 10 year old daugter. I had to pull here over to hear them. Then I found this on youtube. Judith, what an amazing gift you have been given. Isn't it great to know this will live on and on. When you hear a pure heart sing you know it. My daughter is a gifted performer and you have helped her see that the person and the performance are really one and it all comes from the heart. Guard your heart- Bill

  • Very nice song !!

    Thank you Seekers.

    From Yokohama Japan.

  • the verryyyyyyyyy best,

    soo beautiful music,

    remembers me to best times.

    thanks.

  • Beautiful song is it available on a cd.Thanks for putting it on.

  • @pompeyfan200 Yes it's on their CD The ultimate collection released in 2003

  • @Proculled

Many thanks have now tracked it down on Amazon. Thanks again.

  • I think the Seekers are from Australia, not UK. Who knows?

  • @TOCS268, you are correct - The Seekers are from Australia!

  • In college when the Seekers were getting famous hits, I only had a little radio to listen on, I didn't ever have much free money to buy albums or records. Now that I have some to spend I might go down tonight and buy the best of the seekers to catch up on songs that didn't make the U.S. radio stations. These posts of their songs are tremendous and do us all a great service. I had no idea these great songs of theirs were made. Their humility, dignity and beautiful singing is refreshing forever.

  • I love this song. Where can I buy it? It seems all the good talent is in UK. Although we have some here in the U.S have too looke for them

  • where do I get htis song? I love it, I listen to it every day

  • I See Pictures of Judith, but I hear my Daughter, Kimberly Sue 11/05/1967-01/09/2006 Thanks for posting this beautiful song.

  • this performance is right up there with any of their hits and the dozens of other superb efforts in gospel, folk, pop, traditional, etc. music.

  • One of the most natural singing voices anyone has ever had.

  • I want to thank you, Proculled, for posting this lovely music by Judith & The Seekers. I live in the US where The Seekers are not very well known, and its so great to hear all these wonderful songs. Its really marvelous. Thanks again!

  • Beautiful song, I loved the Seekers and Judith Durham back in the '60's and I love them now ! This makes me wonder if Judith recorded this song for her husband who died of Motor Neurone disease in December of 1994 ! Time runs away like a fast flowing river but Judith's voice is still as beautiful as ever !

  • That is a lovely thought, because of the line "I'll see you on the far shore", but I think the song is about the group themselves, The Seekers.

  • Listening to this song is like finding a pearl you didn't know existed. Thanks to whomever posted it.

  • Man, that is just awesome music . Because of my Amish background , I am just now discovering some of the old talents and pieces hidden behind our modern junk. Thanks for a great contribution !!

  • If only popular music had stayed this good! The is so far removed from the Brittany Sp. lady ga ga mind twisting stuff. It's like a breath of fresh air.

  • @carl22069 It is hard to remember but the song keeps us hoping

  • Such a clarity and pureness of voice

  • A grand voice one of the very best

  • Judith you have the voice of an angel....i loved this....wonderful....

  • 2 years ago today Teresa--but someday--on that far shore.

  • Hi, great song wish i had heard it long ago .Her voice will last forever.

  • fabulous and unsurpassed in all respects

  • You are as beautiful today as then.

  • Dare I say it??? That is what you call music!!! Beautiful voice ,great arrangement, clear lucid lyrics!! Well done Proculled for sharing this!!!

  • Thank you.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • great song. reminds me of donovan's "catch the wind."

  • there are no words to describe this song and Judith's voice on it adequately.

  • I like seekers.

  • Nice

  • I agree with you. It's become a favourite of mine too.

  • Another Seekers song that became a favorite for me. About the 45 second mark Judith's smile is one of the loveliest and warmest I've seen. To me, this is what the female voice should sound like, beautiful, effortless and classy.

  • I'd never heard this song before, but it's a superb comeback track with Judith's beautiful, healing voice.

  • Judith Durham: proof that there are angels among us.

  • the world is a better place when one can listen to such a gorgeous voice, thank you for posting.

  • Wow! Never heard this tune before... I'm so glad that I'm finally hearing it now. Nice! What a great voice Judith has. Absolutely! So clean and pure.

    -- -Wally

  • finding the seekers was hard but I am glad i can with them on you tube.Judith is fast and up to the beat of this beautiful song

  • great song sung with pride

  • We'll never find another you, Judith! Happy Birthday!

  • By the way, what happened to beauty in music? I'd like to see a return.

  • Seekers are a favorite group and when I favor a song/video of their's seems that YouTube flips it off. Keep these Seeker vids a comin' thanx. . .

  • Yes, thanx a lot for posting this musical treasure, as cynical and bad-tempered I get, listening to the Seekers always puts a smile on my face and a glow in my heart. I feel it is a gospel, and thank God for the Seekers.

  • Yes if you have first let Judith into your heart she stays there and she can do wonders for us all.Maybe their CD*s should have been sold in drugstores :)

  • You know I think you are right. She just makes my day such a better place to be. I can't explain it but when Judith is singing it's not so bad still being here.

  • Drug companies would never allow it. They would go out of business. hahaha!

You are right though. Their music does have a relaxing effect. After a busy day, just relax, close your eyes, and listen to something like 'Shores of Avalon'.

A beautiful song, with Judith's angelic voice, and you'll get refreshed quite quickly.

  • I use them a lot after a hard day at work believe me.Enya and Loreena Mackennitt are others I use.Judith has a healing voice.

It was John Kovac that got them into writing "Shores of Avalon"it's such a lovely song.He died sadly way to young..

  • Back for another visit. Can't believe how lovely this Seeker treasure is.

    I've been listening for 2 weeks !

    Thank you for posting !

  • I have listened to the lyrics of this song and I don't understand why you are trying to make this into a christian gospel.

  • @GoingToFast: You are right, but I can feel how moving it is. Many would associate the feeling with gospel music. My two cents.

  • Wonderful song. It seems to be a Gospel song.

  • Several of their songs are far more than what they seem on the surface. 'I'll Never Find Another You' is another whose lyrics make it more than just another love song.

  • Yeah, but when are hits ever chosen for their sophisticated lyrics or profound ideas? Forget that, people probably liked it for the music. The world is superficial, anyone with eyes can see that.

  • You can count on it, brother. We may, at the time, be absorbed being with Jesus. And I hope we all realize that it was the Seekers who helped many folks to endure the trials here on earth. They will have a special place on the far shore.

  • Beautiful song, beautiful group. Beautiful folks in the group. I hope I do see them on the far shore.

  • Yes I guess that will be are only chance, then if we are allowed to wade ashore.See you there I hope.

  • You can count on it brother. And you know the Seekers will have a special place on the far shore.

  • What a wonderful surprise and treat this "Far Shore" song is. The "magic" is always there. I just "discovered" this song on YouTube while looking at my old Seeker favorites. Thank you for posting ! :)

  • is this a new song?? I thought it was from the 60s. Christ, Judith, is there anything you can't do?

  • Recorded over 30 years after they broke up this lovely song shows how much was lost by that tragic event.

  • Whatever happened to all the years? So much, so many, all gone...

  • Let's be thankful we have been able to relive it through all of these wonderul videos. Judith Durham is immortal.

  • You are so right!!The Seekers are not from my generation;but it don't matter, what a voice she has!!

  • a beautiful girl, sincere, warm, genuine. a rare quality in a pop singer.

  • Of all of her wonderful songs, I think this one best brings out the quality of Judith Durham's voice. No one is better.

  • yes i agree with you totally, she just takes my breath away,i,ve just started watching her on videos and am amazed at just how graceful she is, a true lady of song

  • I don't think any voice from any era surpasses Judith Durham's. So much heart and soul behind her utterly perfect vocal instrument. She takes my breath away.

  • Thank you so much Proculled for sharing this with us. Judith is an angel, the lads are saints. This is heaven.

  • i can honestly say i have never heard a better singer than Ms Durham in popular music

  • There are many girls who have the potential to be like her now, but they never get the chance because people don't appreciate real music anymore. Everyone seems to want the noise... I shudder... I grew up with my parents playing the Seekers, and I love them. I agree with you completely

  • To be fair... I get your point. There are people out there who could produce great music if given the opportunity. But, without overstating it, there truly is only one Judith Durham. We're so lucky to have her (and "the Boys" too).

  • I totally agree, real music is not appreciated by the masses any more.

  • The best part is, that the music is only there to accompany this great voice of hers.

How many times have we are cheated out of a performance by a band that overpowers the singers and the lyrics.

  • I had never heard this one before, but it's as beautiful as everything else Judith has ever done

  • They were just flat good and Judith's voice is like that of an angel. I love listening to them.

  • She is so gifted and talented, she sings so beautiful and effortlessly, And unlike todays girl singers she didnt need to take her clothes off.

  • Talk about adapting over time, Judith, and the guys are awesome. Even today they could sell out concerts around the globe. Never any better than them.

  • A wonderful voice

  • That voice! The song! It's concept, to be viewed as we all may see fit. Nobody but Judith could ever deliver the impact that this song contains. Judith always brings at least two things to the table everytime. Joy. Hope. She has never let me down and I'm going back to the mid 1960's when, at the tender age of five, I first heard that amazing sound...Judith's beautiful voice. God blessed us all with it! My name is Morgan. I am a lifetime fan of Judith.

  • Judith is nothing less than an angel walking among humans. Beautiful woman, outstanding voice and a great group to be a part of.

  • we used this song at my friend's retirement. I thought it was the best song to use.

  • The Seekers were doubly unique in that along with their charming Australian accent and Judiths gorgeous voice, the Seekers, themselves, did not use any electric instruments. Athol and his magnificent double bass provided breathtaking depth to their music, original and sincere. God what talent - on loan from God.

  • Sorry to disappoint, but unlike their 1960s recordings, this 1990s song is chockas with electric piano and (shock-horror) electric geetar! Sounds AWESOME.

  • Oh yes, you are right, that recording is great. And I am aware that they did use other instrumemts in their concerts after their reunion. It was in the 60's that their basic appealling characteristic as a group was that it was simple yet exciting music that didn't need the artificial sound supplied by electricity. Granted they were assisted on occasional concerts with with orchestras and other instruments. Their studio recordings, that hit the charts where without electric instruments.

  • GREAT VOICE

  • wonderful

  • oh, my

    precious...

the lyrics, the songbird in Judith....

a time long past the golden day of night...

but the far shore still in the hopes and dreams of the heart...

    blessings,

    suziestew

  • Such a beautiful song!

  • Did The Seekers ever record a song that was sub par? If they did, I have yet to hear it.

  • Ruddy brilliant..how apt the words are to me..thanks for the posting..

  • Precious.

  • Fabulous like they always will be...RWB

  • I was lucky, I saw them live b4 they disbanded(the first time).I have listened to their music ever since. To me the seekers were nothing without Judith, she was average without them. But together they were Fabulous.

  • there is no way that you could ever describe Judith as average...she excels as a solo performer and album artist outside of The Seekers format. Hope you've taken the opportunity to go and see Judith's live shows and purchase her superb solo albums. She's working on album number 10 now which should hopefully be out shortly.

  • Judith average? Preposterous beyond belief. Yes, together the Seekers are very special, yesterday and today. But Judith is a transcendant talent.

  • She seems so sweet. I'll bet she really is!

  • This is a track I have sought for so long and the compilation of photographs is excellent.

I have all the track of the seekers except this as this was released as a single and also put out on "The Treasure Chest" album and later on the Ultimate collection as a bonus track.many thanks for the oportunity to listen to another forgotten track by this great artiste.

  • I cannot thank my dad enough for introducing me to The Seekers, being only a mere 1 year old when they had their 1993 Farewell Tour I surely missed out on decades of their brilliant music. Judith and the boys will always be my number one group.

  • hbailen is right. Of all the music videos available on YouTube, the Seekers videos are very special. The Group has a magic that reaches across time and generations. The Seekers operate at a higher level, with unmatched talent, style and class. Their music is great for children, cool enough for teenagers, yet deep and meaningful for the most mature adult. I don't think the music world has ever seen a finer group than the Seekers.

  • Hi Greg,

    I'm curious.

I remember having a tape entitled 'Let There Be Praise!' The producers name was Greg Nelson.

Is that you, or just your namesake?

I have loved the Seekers since I was five years old; 1969. I have never got bored listening to them, and I still listen to them more than any other artist.

  • Hi Dumaguetenonputi. No, I'm not the same Greg Nelson who produced the "Let There Be Praise" tape you own. I have no musical talent at all, other than the ablity to listen and enjoy fine groups such as the Seekers.

Like most Americans, I knew little of the Seekers, due to the group having so little promotion here in the 60's. YT recently intoduced me to the Seekers' full music range. I was astounded by this wonderful group and have become a big fan.

  • I agree with all myheart. Loren

  • I enjoy this site and all the other songs the seekers recorded.judith your a blessing.

  • Im a 30 yr old chick and have loved the seekers since i was 10. Thanks mum for giving me your "20 golden greats" cassette. Ive been thinking about that movie idea alot recently. Id love to see a film based on their musical lives, but i just dont see it happening within the aussie film industry. Id happily play an extra in the front row at the myer music bowl. Love ya judith. you are simply amazing xxx

  • What an Incredible singer.

  • Proculled: Has anyone in Australia or anywhere ever considered making a movie based on The Seekers' early years? Not sure if there was enough drama or that the story itself was film-worthy...but all that music would be fun to see in a flick if you could find actor/singers worthy of Judith and the boys. Just a thought.

  • No,can't say i have heard any talk about making a movie. But the DVD "The world of The Seekers"is a film where they play themselves in the early years.

  • Her voice is incredible.

  • Her voice is incredible and I love all of the Seeker's songs. I grew up with them. They are great!

  • Thanks, Proculled, for the update about Judith. That's good to know. I've discovered (or in this case, rediscovered) a lot of wonderful music via YouTube...none provide as much magic as Judith and the guys.

  • I just hope Judith realizes just how many people all over the world are moved whenever she sings. Wha

  • I can assure you Judith knows how many people are moved by her singing. But in the 60s she had no idea.

  • Judith's voice is magical. It's good to be able to hear her after so many years. I grew with the seekers in the background. Lovely music and they don't make them like this anymore.

  • I seem to recall this song without realising it was The Seekers singing it. As usual, Judith is as brilliant as ever. Whatever she sings is beautiful and it's so nice to see the group stayed together for so long. Like all of us, they have aged, but I hope we can see them perform again once more. Otherwise, they will be sadly missed and our happy memories they bring back to us, might be forgotten forever.

  • TXGTR,i'm afraid their time has gone. They turned down a request earlier this year to perform at the Meyer music bowl. Now we only have the memories.

  • Oh dear, Proculled, that is a shame. Perhaps I might be able to get a messagwe to them on Judith's official website. Being a Year older than her and a bit younger than some of the others, at our age it is a great effort to be able to perform again. That's what age does for you.

  • i'm fifty-four, so i grew up - or tried to, anyway - in the late sixties, early seventies. the beatles and beach boys and all the rest were what was huge in the states then. the seekers were what was refered to as folk music. i wish i would have appreciated them more then, but thank God i have found them again now. their music is what is truly solid and enduring.

  • I know exactly what you mean.I have it the same way. They might be gone now forever as a group, but their music will live on with us.

  • Phil (Proculled), I would say your first try at a picture video was certainly successful. Nice work. And I always appreciate your offerings. Thanks.

  • I truly LOVE all of their videos, but Far Shores is my absolute favorite. I love each one's unique singing. Their blending of their voices is what truly makes it. Marjie

  • Judith Durham's voice is fantastic!

    RON

  • this girl can sing.

  • Great to hear Judith & the guys sounding so contemporary here...a good thumping bass line, percussion loud in the mix, ELECTRIC guitar (shock horror!) and of course, those fabulous harmonies. I reckon it's the best thing they recorded during their "2nd time 'round".

  • Totally agree with you....I can not believe it was recorded in 1997. her voice made no change for the past 3 decades. Amazing

  • I can't believe this was recorded in 1997,if you close your eyes and listen it's as if you've been transported back to the 60's. Judith's voice is the same, its hard to believe she was 54 when this was made, go Judith.

  • I have just listened to this and am transported to a different world. Then again Judith and the boys always do that. My God, the combination of classy writing and singing..you just don't get that now. Fabulous!

  • Yes i agree,Far Shore and Massachussetts are just as good as songs they recorded in the sixties and i have both on CD where they sound much better than here.

  • I adored the Seekers as a teenager in the sixties, as did hordes of others. I recognised from the outset that Judith Durhams voice was something quite extraordinary. I was a bit too young to fully appreciate the musicality of the rest of her band. I do now. Their more recent recordings of "Far Shore" & "Massachusetts" are at least as good as any of their sixties work. Judiths singing of "Danny Boy", is enough to make grown men cry.

  • Yet another utterly beautiful Seekers song entirely knew to me. Judith Durhams singing is, as ever, stunning. "Far Shore", i read from Proculled was recorded in 1997, but easily stands comparison to any of their best sixties songs.

  • That was excellent! You know...the lyrics fit exactly what you're implying...that they "really didn't get to say goodbye"! Good job!!

  • Far Shore was recorded in 1997 and Massachussetts in 2003.I have just recently heard them myself.Yes,the photo's nice.Lovely little Aussie girl.
