I saw him putting on a dress and painting his face as an "Ah, fuck it!" moment. To me it shows liberation--he's just having fun, that's all--trying to forget his troubles.

Not totally similar, but anyone who likes this should check out the Japanese band Ego-Wrappin'. Both bands are super groovy jazz!

Ego-Wrappin' has a completely different attitude in their music, much closer to funk and rock. Koop is about minimalism and elegance and shouldn't be called "groovy" in the same mannor as Ego Wrappin' is. Just because both bands use horn sections doesn't mean their music is simular. The problem with music genres like "jazz" today is that it only refer to a common jazz influence, and doesn't say anything about whats really important: the bands attitude to music or what they say in lyrics.
