@johntkooz Yeah, when I started listening to him I only listen the most "normal" songs, like the ones on Mutations or on Modern Guilt. But slowly I started to also like the other stuff, the "weird" one and now he's one of my favourite artists. Maybe all you need is a time :)

Sorta disappointed here which is a lot coming from an intense Beck fan who never disses the guy but don't you find he almost speeds through the song like he wants to get it over with.. When I saw him in concert it was a little like that the whole time.

It's not his missus, it's Jessica Dobson from Deep Sea Diver, she's one of Beck's current hired hands.

Her vocal does sound awful here, but she's a massively talented multi-instrumentalist with a great voice (a voice that usually works really well with Beck's). Blame the monitors and give her the benefit of the doubt here!

I know exactly what you mean... I miss his old band, too. I mean, nothing against Jessica and all them, but I grew up watching his other performances that actually had enthusiasm and spunk, and his band really helped signify that. Now it's just kind of bland, much like his new album to me...

I wouldn't say this performance was BAD or anything. I think Beck delivered vocally. I saw him live in August, and while the entire concert was completely toned down, he still delivered magnificently musically, and the new band did great justice to many songs. Jessica Dobson gave great back-up vocals to songs like Devil's Haircut, and it gave them a great new sound.

I just wish he'd get Justin Meldal-Johnson (with NIN right now) back on bass, he was the greatest.

totale geldverschwendung vom OK des openairs. habe zwar nur die ersten 15min des konzerts gesehen, aber das hat gereicht. zur gleichen zeit spielten sportfreunde stiller auf der sternenbühne. DAS war ein konzert. was beck hier gezeigt hat, war eine riesige enttäuschung. hätten sie lieber flogging molly oder die kooks als headliner gebookt.
