one of the frew true milestones in cars. and also in racing. who cares about rally today? it was a great meeting of rally, quattro, general interest. what kid has a posters of a rally car missing bystanders by a hair on his wall today.
what do we have today? the internet? makes you wanna go back.
in response to your question, im 16, and in pride of place on my wall, is a picture of the Audi Quattro(1981), i also have an entire shelf of memorabilia dedicated to Group A rallying, so not to worry, not all of us have been brainwashed, theres hope yet.
I am 17 and since 1 or 2 years ago I have been asking around how to start in the rally world (I love rally group b too and wish it to come back, though I have never seen it in action live)
Audi has done well in many different types of racing for years. I remember the Hans Stuck IMSA years when they were so totally dominated their class they actually passing oter cars in their class, on the outside...in the rain.
I love Audi, In fact I was looking through my things and I found an old signed picture of Hans Stuck... I miss group B and the old Le Mans way... they just don't understand the new R10 Diesel doesn't make the same sound that the R8 did... it's sad really.
I liked the old R8 and I like the R10 - it gets high innovation points as far as I'm concerned. What I don't like to see in racing is such close regulation that vehicles become virtually replicas of each other regardless of manufacturer/builder. I think WRC is still fairly innovative - but look at F1 or Motogp or the ultimate in clone cars, NASCAR.
rappers say benz this, benz that bitch, but, i say.... let the audi revolution begin my freind, the wrx and evo exist b/c of cars like this, vw parts going fast as he*(&, dkw nsu wanderer horch and audi...auto union
