A STi Forester is in no way going to beat a Zed car with almost 500HP. 300HP with ok weight vs. a 500HP light weight car, do the math. AWD will win in a dig but at speed is where it starts to slow.
Just because it's an old Forester does not mean it doesn't have a 2.5 since almost any Subaru with a EJ series motor can be swapped with anyother EJ. So it's not uncommon to see a old Subaru with a new WRX/STi motor in it, i.e. a 2.5 STi motor in a Forester.

It also doesn't have the major chassis flaw that forced the discontinued production and sale of the overpriced Z8's~ But we're comparing apples to oranges here. It's all subjective :)
