@fallenknave...exactly, everytime u TRAP ur hair in between 2 hot plates u r burning your hair from within. Its like water in a straw.u add heat..its starts to BOIL! How is that healthy? There isnt anything good abt 300-400 degrees heat& steam on your hair.If you've got really resilient hair u may be able do this 4ever BUT 4 most ur hair looks and performs like CRAP without all the extra sprays, silicones, etc 2 cover up the poor condition of ur hair from all the burn & boil treatments.
This is such BS!! How can u show a flat iron used on essentially straight caucasian and chemically relaxed hair? How about u start with some super Curly Q caucasian hair or chemical free coarse hair?? IN OTHER WORDS: Lets see it used on a Felicity-type super curly white girl OR a rachel true black girl...THEN we can see if it really works! Otherwise u are just giving a mini-steam treatment to already wavy/straight hair!So glad I saw this video and didnt waste my money!! Its all PR hype!
I have the BaByliss TT vapor iron! I LOVE it! I don't use water in the chamber though, I buy Joico's repaRx vapor steam and put that in the chamber. It works great! I have really thick hair that is frizzy and I can keep it straight all day with VA humidity! I got mine on Amazon.com for a great price!
If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.
i'm sorry, but does no one realise that steam is not actually "conditioning" OR "hydrating"? you're just scalding your hair. 450 degrees = brutally murdered hair.
@fallenknave no, not really. i can only get my hair straight with a heat setting that high. if you have thin hair or normal hair , then yes, you should be at about 300. but for people like me, i need high temperatures to acually straighten.
If you want a professional straightener and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair. You can buy from My Hair Styling Tools or Hair Products Pro. Good luck and I hope this helps.
@taramariesnipes probably not, I have a Babyliss Pro straightener (no steam) and it doesnt, plus if it did, they wouldve mentioned it/made a big deal about it in the video
I'm a hairstylist and I have this iron. It's great on all types of hair. I use it on African American hair (all textures). It breaks the hair down to a smooth, shiney surface instantly.
Joico has one too, that uses a condition reconstructor instead of water.
How much? Can steam damage my hair?

The dvd that comes with this iron is exactly this-so it's advertising it to you more when you already bought it....? Just weird.

@MizMimiCullen I KNOW! that probably means it doesn't work cuz they didn't want people to see it fail on someone with curly hair.. :P
