  • John is an Guitar Extroadinaire that can play with the best of them! Especially love his work on the killer Brand X 1978 LP Masque.

  • Not bad for a 62 year old?? I followed this dude way back when he collaborated on The Epic Peter and the Wolf project way back in 1974.....

  • Brand X is amazing, awesome composer

  • @pobinr, Was that at the Locarno in Portsmouth & double bill will Bruford?. Was there great night mate 'a.

  • Glad I got to see Brand X & the Bruford double bill at the Locarno in 80 or was it 81.

Been listening to Brand X again lately

WTF don't people produce music as brill as Brand X's now ?

You're lucky if they can play more than 2 chords these days.

    Haircuts more important than musicianship.

  • Love it - the basic track to "Money Back". Those are those funky Z pickups like on the G&L comanche - really rings nice.

  • @aliensporebomb

A G&L with a Strat neck. At first I thought he was playing a strat but noticed those pickups and the bridge too.

  • These guys RULE

  • Cool vid of one of the best guitarists on the planet. I love 'im. One complaint, though...John, why did you start playing a dismal AC DC line in your progression here? Are you serious??

  • that's just John larking about, he occasionally quotes metal riffs. At one of the firemerchant gigs someone actually requested inna godda davida so he played a few bars. Imagine someone trying to dance to this stuff. It was odd.

  • Nice!!!!!!!!...........keep it up, John!
