More modern GW retcon filth. It's too bad all the good GW writers like Priestley and Chambers are gone. They were conscious of keeping the timeline intact & establish a feeling of a living world. The original storyline for the Heresy only made mention of the Ultramarines in that they had been crusading on the southern edge of the galaxy & smashed a large force of rebel reinforcements on their way back to Earth. I don't understand why these guys feel the need to change canon to make their mark.
And finally it's good to see Dan say that Guillimen is going to get a lot of pages devoted to him because as the author of the Codex Astartes, the de facto successor to the Emperor after the Heresy and the architect of essentially the entire Imperium military in 40K (Space Marine at least) he needs as much character development to explain his legend as possible.
One of the few things I didn't actually like in Prospero Burns was the lack of pages which featured Leman Russ centre stage.
Prospero Burns is a fantastic means to present the 30K origins of one of the most unorthodox and interesting legions, much like Dan's marvellous Legion did for the Alpha Legion. Observing the Wolves from a human perspective was the right choice for a vast number of reasons if you look past the desire for Bolter (or in this case, Axe) porn.
The Ultramarines however are a different animal and I think an Astartes perspective is the only way to properly do justice to that legion.
As a die-hard Space Wolf fan I was originally caught off guard with the style and approach adopted by Dan to Prospero Burns. I think after reading A Thousand Sons many people expected a similar tone to the story which was heavy on key character interactions and development such as Magnus and Arihman.
However after reading I now feel that Dan did an amazing job of re-inventing the Space Wolves and making them much less cartoonish than they are in 40K fiction.
I like that they are exploring the other Primarchs and what makes them all tick a little more. I mean Fulgrim set the benchmark for a legions decent, but there are still the other Traitor Legions and what made them fall the way they did. Even the workings of folk like the Blood Angels before the curse fell upon them. Here is a thought - will Sanguinius ever sparkle in the sun like the Twilight vampires?
read most of your books - amazing do you mind asking the guys to stop making books like promethean sun to limited numbers
and to add them to the heresy

The twist with Bear in Prospero Burns, outstanding. I actually laughed out loud when I read it. I love it, Dan.

Prospero Burns: the bit with the hand built majickal bird! Amazing.

I also like that Hawser can ask "why?" on our behalf. Allowing you to explain/hint the answer.

I want a Unification Wars series after the Horus Heresy series winds up!

@nxps1 I second that, I'd also like a Scouring period series, there are so many stories from that era to be told.

And that question about Loken...was this vid made before the latest Garro audiobook?
DeltaSquad451 5 months ago
@DeltaSquad451
The question asked if Loken will survive past the siege of terra. Not whether or not he is still alive.

@DarkDramon
Well, whether he'll survive the Heresy in general. He survived part of it...amnesiac, but at least he got it all back.

Okay, legit question: do you take off your rings when you wash your hands?

ZIIIIIING!
The rigid epic structure of the Heresy is what makes all the action around it so dramatic!
