Eisenhower's administration was indeed a bright chapter in the glorious & continuing story of America's presidents! He cut taxes, balanced the federal budget, initiated the interstate highway system, supported the civil rights movement, & fought the Cold War abroad. In a quiet but firm way, he presided over prosperity at home while protecting us from the threat of communism. Who doesn't like Ike? Cold-blooded liberals.

Eisenhower was not the supreme commander of the allied armies at the end of the war I am afraid. Eisenhower handed supreme command over to Wilson then he handed it to Alexander. Alexander was in charge when Hitler surrendered and HE accepted the surrender. However Eisenhower was a brilliantly talented man.

It didn't matter at all to him. He served in WW1 as well, but saw no action and from their, he climbed the ladder to Supreme Commander. What his ancestors were doing was morally wrong, and fighting for your country to keep the freedoms you have; prevails. Think of what's right and what's wrong. You make an oath to serve your country and that's more important when you join the armed forces. If not, then don't join the military. Simple as that.
