I loved this movie! I saw this movie when I was 4 or 5 years old. I was born in 1997. I had no clue what was about till now. :) I fav movies were the lion king, disney fanastia, and anastasia, and lots more of disney movies! Disney is part of childhood since birth!

Actually it came out before titanic. Titanic came out on December 19, 1997 and anastasia came out on November 21, 1997 Almost a month before so the characters of anastasia couldn't be based off of titanic plus it was in production probably a lot longer seeing how it was an animated film.

It was similar to a revolution, but Rasputin corrupted the people, and they killed every member of the Romanov family. Except Anastasia and her Grandma, her Grandma did actually flee to Paris, while Anastasia was missing. No one ever found her again. It's quite a sad real story, but it was made very well.

I had no idea this was about the Romanov family I found out just now when I saw this video whilst typing in on Youtube as I'm doing some of my own research. But wow Disney really unexpected that you'd do a movie on something like this. This reminds me of that woman who claimed she was Anastasia and said the soldiers helped her escape. But to be honest someone would have recognized her if she escaped and she'd have the whole of russia looking for her. But wow really had no idea.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but the real Anastasia did not survive that massacre. Her bones were found some 200 feet away from where her family lay. Any film made about her escape was good entertainment, at best. RIP, Anastasia.

This movie is amazing. The true story is terribly sad, but so fascinating. Just recently the last of the Romanov family was found, and the missing member was Marie/Maria (I've heard her called both) not Anastasia. But the girls were all very pretty. I read somewhere that Rasputin said that if he were murdered or if he died they would lose the crown and their son within six months... and they did. Whether or not this is historically accurate is a mystery to me, but that's what I've heard.
