The 09 zx6r is a very fast 600. The v would get it off the line but after that I think the kawi wins but she was on an older model. And you can get a 600 and never ride it to its limit good bike for the city.and cheaper than a 1000

What I like about the VROD is it doesn't look Italian, it kind of has its own look about it. I don't have anything against Italian bikes but you have to admit most sportsbikes are patterned on Italian bikes and to a lesser extent some British bikes. I admire the creativity of the VROD.

this is a race against a girl riding a bike with 1/2 the engine size. nice work. v-rods are not that powerful stock @ about 115 hp (74ftlbs torque) and weigh over 600 lbs. More weight and far less power than European or Asian bikes of similar size.
v rods are excellent drag bikes... very high torque... I agree with you @myvrodrocks when you claim you´re not driving the fastest bike on the planet... but of course you would have a lot of problems if the race was in a circuit... because of the advantage of the sportbikes in corners...

This is my favorite type of drag racing. You never know what you'll see. At our local races I've seen among other things RVs, yellow school buses, vans and even a couple of teenagers racing their moms supercharged Pontiac Grand Prix, without her knoweledge of course. If it passes the safety inspection you can run it.

A stock Rocket 3. V-max (old or new) or GSXR 1300 engined bike should be able to go much faster than a V-Rod. I'm assuming that you're talking about a short track because on a longer stretch just about any 600 sport bike can catch up.

Test drive them both at your local dealer. The difference between the two is pretty large. A Vrod is much smoother and makes an assload more power than a softail. I have a 2006 night rod, so I am biased towards the v-rod. However, traditional harley's have there place, and nothing is quite like being in a pack of 10 big twins rumbling down the road.
The V-Rod is not made in Germany. The engine is based on the VR1000 racing engine which was a collaborative effort between Porsche and HD. That is why they went back to Porsche to make the engine more street-able. The rest of the bike is mainly USA with some parts from abroad.
I am considering a VROD to add to my garage. Very nice bike and, in my opinion, a big step toward Harley being able to compete in the global economy.
That being said, it is definitely not a class by itself. It is a muscle bike, which was pretty much created with the V-max. You also have the 2.3 litre Rocket III, Warrior, M109, and really the new T-Bird has the specs for consideration also.
How is this fair at all? 1250 vs. 600? Put that POS up against a stock Busa and watch your balls shrink up. 50cc more in a Busa but that shouldn't matter because "American-made" is always the best, right?

First off, the VROD is in a class alright, but NOT ALONE! Its in the Muscle 'Cruiser' class which is growing these days. Take a look at the Suzuki M109r and the new M90.. 'M' for muscle. What did Harley name there 2009 VROD ??? MUSCLE. So there you go. Other metric companies have a similar model in this class also.
These bikes are NOT of the CLASSIC cruiser style, but more of a cruiser with 'attitude' - and a hint sport bike styling. (O: Read the magazine comparos to learn more...

Busas are not drag bikes. They shine in the long run. Off the line the rider has a very fine line between wheel spin and wheelie. Very hard to keep up with me. I dump the clutch at 6k and hang on. If I hook up I pull a 1.8 60 foot. My bike with me weighs over 800 lbs. I think beating a 120lb girl on a 180lb bike that could ride your ass into the ground is not bad. Where is your vid and what are your times?

Dog...I never said a thing about the race...I just posted the video. Not like I was braggin or showin off. I had no choice on the race, I pulled up and she was there. You see the outcome. As a matter of fact, that girl is the top of her class and she wins every race, that is why they lined me up with her. I usually get set next to litre bikes and if it was not for the last 200 feet of the track I would beat them too.
That seems kind of funny that they'd have cars and bikes ride back to the line on gravel and grass. I don't think that stuff getting into the tires is a good idea, no??
HMMM really so this turboed vrod that runs an 11.3 stock with maybe 100whp cant run a 9 with an extra 60 whp? Do a little research and come back and see me. There are a couple guys on 1130cc that are running low 10's high 9's with a turbo.
The problem here is you are focused on time. Look at the track. It's a runway. Concrete and uphill. It is the only track here so I have no other one to compare. Forget the time, just realize that I run 11.2 Before the turbo on this track I ran 12.4 The Kawa in the video runs 12.2 or so. A friend on a ZX-10 best was 10.4 A busa that was there was also running 10.7 You can't focus on the times, but the differences between them. I am faster than a 600 and slower than a liter bike.
But really who cares any bike can be riden fast get what you like/want/price and be safe and have fun.

the VRod is a great bike from HD. The Revolution motor was made in connection with Porsche. The engineering is awesome all around.
this new niche of "Muscle bikes" are long needed and really bridge the gap from cafe to cruiser....great stuff.
I am young(er) and ride a shovel, not a cafe bike sort, and these are a dream to find.

First off, the VROD is in a class alright, but NOT ALONE! Its in the Muscle 'Cruiser' class which is growing these days. Take a look at the Suzuki M109r and the new M90.. 'M' for muscle. What did Harley name there 2009 VROD ??? MUSCLE. So there you go. Other metric companies have a similar model in this class also.

Busas are not drag bikes. They shine in the long run. Off the line the rider has a very fine line between wheel spin and wheelie. Very hard to keep up with me. I dump the clutch at 6k and hang on. If I hook up I pull a 1.8 60 foot. My bike with me weighs over 800 lbs. I think beating a 120lb girl on a 180lb bike that could ride your ass into the ground is not bad. Where is your vid and what are your times?

LOL this great whats next you going to go to the school yard and kick the crap out of some smart mouth second grade kid. Next time line up with a bone stock liter bike or a zx14 or Busa. In fact if that person on the stock 600 could ride worth a damn it would have been and even race through the 1/4. It took a Turbo to beat a slow rider on a small bike. Nice bike though it sounds mean but it still ain't fast

Dog...I never said a thing about the race...I just posted the video. Not like I was braggin or showin off. I had no choice on the race, I pulled up and she was there. You see the outcome. As a matter of fact, that girl is the top of her class and she wins every race, that is why they lined me up with her. I usually get set next to litre bikes and if it was not for the last 200 feet of the track I would beat them too.

HMMM really so this turboed vrod that runs an 11.3 stock with maybe 100whp cant run a 9 with an extra 60 whp? Do a little research and come back and see me. There are a couple guys on 1130cc that are running low 10's high 9's with a turbo.

The problem here is you are focused on time. Look at the track. It's a runway. Concrete and uphill. It is the only track here so I have no other one to compare. Forget the time, just realize that I run 11.2 Before the turbo on this track I ran 12.4 The Kawa in the video runs 12.2 or so. A friend on a ZX-10 best was 10.4 A busa that was there was also running 10.7 You can't focus on the times, but the differences between them. I am faster than a 600 and slower than a liter bike.
