Jeez! The volume nob control right before 6 min! Holy smokes, man! That's freaking hard with a pedal. To do that, that fast, get all the swells AND the notes.... Beautiful. Are they still together? Do they tour the States?
this is great stuff! Andy's probably the best musician as far as guitar playing is concerned. really great, one of my favourite bands ever. i'm 50years old, have seen and listed to much butnothinglike camelto get my heart and soul filled with great joy
pure genius...andy is a gentleman of the six strings...
Camel... j'adore!!!
musica senza tempo, e se siamo in pochi ad apprezzarla, meglio cosi'; tanto loro hanno avuto benefici economici a sufficienza e noi possiamo dire di appartenere a una schiera di eletti....
I'm a keyboardplayer from Milan (Italy) and I like Dust and Dreams" plus "Harbour of Tears" by Camel, then Echolyn's "Suffocating the Bloom" and "Hybris" by Anglagard (even though this latter is always in the vein of the experimental prog rock of the seventies a-la Shylock or the experimental Yes and early King Crimson), anyway a poker of aces, being the best progressive albums of the nineties; and then I add my former band Lethe's album entitled "Nymphae" (eh eh, let me joke for a while!!)
Why the heck do people listen to crappy commercial pop that is so bad that it would be a shame if I mentioned here, when there is such a vast epic piece! I love camel!
loved this band since the first album way back in 73 and this gem sits right up there amongst all the camel classics of old, lats must,ve loved having dave stewart around just superb and a super chilled out foss solo too.....what a fantastic band best wishes andy be strong
Went to this tour gig in the Astoria Theatre, London in '97. Awesome drumming from young Dave Stewart from about 2:22 onwards - almost up to Phil Collins' standard. Hope we hear something new from Andy Latimer & Co in the not-too-distant future.
The ending on this track startled me. There I was listening to Andy Latimer, who has an unmistakable style and technique all his own and all of a sudden along comes this blazing finish that is pure Steve Hackett (from his "Voyage of the Accolyte" period) . I had to squint into the darkness at the back of the stage to convince myself that they hadn't stashed him somewhere back there.
Was at the Glasgow gig on this tour. Dave Stewart had the R, O and D blanked off on his keyboard,. C had been added to make it read "Clan" Nice one Dave!
Agreed, Andy's use of the volume knob to make this sound is incredible. (Van Halen used it on "Cathedral".) Also, check out the "West Berlin" live track from '84, I think he uses this technique even better on that track.
Yes RockArtLove, breathtaking & brilliant. Andy Latimer is peerless. And since you are just learning this genre, you will hear many more prog classics. An amazing and beautiful journey awaits you.
Overwhelmingly Breathtaking, Amazingly Brilliant! This Lady Proger is still learning this music's art form but, I realize I have been shown the Best Of Symphonic Progressive Rock Classics!
Dave Stewart is on drums. Andy (or Andrew) Latimer plays the guitar, Colin Bass plays the bass and Foss Patterson the keyboards. Dave Stewart is amazing, but you should also check out Camel's first drummer: Andy Ward. He was in the band from 1971-1981.
Love Camel. Saw them at the NEC (uk) in '84. Had me in tears. Andy Latimer is one of my favorite guitarists, and been a great inspiration. Also, thanks to U Tubers out there for posting these Camel gems.

It doesn't really matter 'cause this is one of the most talented guitarists in the world...
Since the 70:s, he's been miles aheads of van Halen, and many....
They are all there, aren'nt they...
