  • probably all we can do is vote with our money - don't go and see the film, let it die on its arse, a fitting comment!

617 Squadron had a long and illustriuos career after the dams raid: they sank the Tirpitz, and dropped the first earthquake bombs - surely a follow-up would be better than a remake - especially a remake of a classic film that can't be improved, certainly not by 21st-century niceties and prejudices.

  • @franl155 Operation Paravane would be an excellent subject for a film.

I recently saw the 2008 version of The Red Baron film. The computer renders of the planes were excellent until they were seen in flight. The dynamics were more Star Wars than World War One. They looked awful. Sometimes CGI just doesn't cut it.

  • I can see why they are changing it with its modern connertations, I am a major fan of the original but am looking forward to this new version and will be treating it as just that a new film I will forget the original whilst watching it and enjoy it for what it is

  • Whats the problem, you can still kill truckloads of Germans and no one raises an eye brow. I would stick with the original name by the way, to much history being changed. Poor old Poles missed out on the credit for cracking Enigma after U351 came out on the screen,+the poor old poms for a well executed raid on the weather ship in the North Atlantic for the code books, War winning stuff!!! but portrayed by others on the screen i cant mention here for fear of the tirade of fervent patriotism booooo

  • son of the bitch

  • They should call the dog Digger, and give Guy Gibson a cold.

  • foreigners get away withy everything in UK, and then continue to peddle their

lousy moslem religion, their corruption, match fixing etc etc

    -Great Britain is doomed

as you cant speak out against these corrupt invaders, and so now, even the new Dambuster movie has to compromise with this shit

  • crazy! whole movie could have been cancelled due to political correctness!

LOL! -yet when i go to West Indies, they called me a "honkie" bastard with complete

    impunity-LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • Think it is going to be Niggs which Gibson did use, Stephen Fry is apparently on the job so he will sort it out. More of a question about how Gibson is portrayed as he wasn't altogether likeable.

  • So they have changed the name in the upcoming remake?

  • @GerbilEssences The dog is going to be called Nidge or Nigsey, or something similar.

  • @DPSflight I think its going to be changed to Digger or Trigger.

  • @DPSflight Isn't it all just PATHETIC!!!!!

  • @MrJohnL21 I must say I have to agree with you wholeheartedly.

  • @DPSflight I think my main point is - why can't these self-righteous, opinionated, arrogant impostors keep THEIR noses out of OUR history, It's NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!!!! 'Nigger' is corrupted Latin for 'black', which is a perfectly logical and reasonable in the circumstances and did not have pejorative connotations at the the time Guy Gibson gave his dog the name. Gibson was obviously very close to his canine companion and would hardly have given him a name that was less than affectionate.

  • @MrJohnL21 Rather than rework the original, and indeed excellent, 1955 account of the Dam Busters/Operation Chastise raid I would rather see another story from WWII used as a subject for a new film. Operation Aphrodite would make a great movie. It has it all. A great story, leading edge technology ....and a dead Kennedy: Joseph Patrick Kennedy Jr. JFK's big brother.
