The Sharia law is stuck the past in 1924 where thier last caliphate of the ottoman empire coded the sharia law and so no improvements can be made, changed or amended.
The people of islamic world must choose a caliphate and then can they update their Sharia law and if they can catch up to the humanitarian law and human rights then we'll think about it.
As long as submission to Sharia Law and its courts is voluntary (ie. believers can voluntarily agree to accept its arbitration if they wish) then I have no problem. I would consider that an issue of educating those women of their rights. Assuming they're aware of their civil rights and the option to choose between the Sharia and the secular civil courts, I see no reason to force them into the secular court system against their will. I'm only applying this to civil disputes like divorce, inheritance, etc, all criminal trials should be under existing secular judicial systems IMO.
In essence this is what goes on anyways; if you get a good lawyer, you can create a contract for binding arbitration outside the official court system. You can structure the arbitration system almost however you like. So long as both parties voluntarily agree to abide by the judgement of the arbitrating party, it's legally binding. Like I said, as long as the woman is aware of her civil rights and her right to choose the secular option, who are you to tell her how to live?

Yes, but you are forgetting the human rights aspect of it. Such as the right to life for instance. The crime rates are not as low in the middle east as you think, many like rapes and murders are not reported because of the different value system.

As long as submission to Sharia Law and its courts is voluntary (ie. believers can voluntarily agree to accept its arbitration if they wish) then I have no problem. But as soon as the Muslims start telling me that their imaginary friend's magical declarations apply to ME, then we have a problem. I personally find the morality underlying the laws offensive. I have no interest in submitting to 1500 year-old laws of desert nomads, thank you very much. I'll gladly take my chances with their "Hell."

I would consider that an issue of educating those women of their rights. Assuming they're aware of their civil rights and the option to choose between the Sharia and the secular civil courts, I see no reason to force them into the secular court system against their will. I'm only applying this to civil disputes like divorce, inheritance, etc, all criminal trials should be under existing secular judicial systems IMO.

In essence this is what goes on anyways; if you get a good lawyer, you can create a contract for binding arbitration outside the official court system. You can structure the arbitration system almost however you like. So long as both parties voluntarily agree to abide by the judgement of the arbitrating party, it's legally binding. Like I said, as long as the woman is aware of her civil rights and her right to choose the secular option, who are you to tell her how to live?

I completely agree, the blessings which make Judaism and Christianity far better is that the former has been persecuted relentlessly for centuries and its mellowed them with age while the former has the New Testament which is more moderate. Islam has NONE of that.

There are many prophecies that are still being fulfilled regarding other matters , I'm a student of prophecy. Now God's time frame for his return , that's up to the father.The OT and the NT should be looked at with this perspective ,, basically the whole book is about the Son of God,Jesus Christ. Jesus fulfilling only 12 prophecies , the odds are astronomical, 400 that's enough for me .

Jesus did not fulfill the criterion as laid out in the Old Testament and the Torah. That's why many Jews did not and do not (like my Israeli friend) accept him as the Messiah.

They are totally different. The Old law punishments in the old testament were used to teach the hebrews how to live together under the Laws of God, The old covenant versus the new covenant (Christ ), will clear much up, of course you may not give a hoot.

Do you live in the UK? If so you should feel privileged to be in a place that allows you the chance to voice your opinion. I have Seikh, Hindu and Buddhist friends, i know some muslims but i would never trust them. Accept the laws of the land you live in and if you don't like it, go to some islamic country to make your point because Britain doesn't want you. The whole objective of your religion is to keep people down. And i for one am delighted that i wont be around to see it.

i am not agreeing nor disagreeing. my thoughts are in the middle pertaining to the issure. complete sharia law for the west will never work. i do believe and always will believe that sharia law means justice for victims of violent crimes. Also, the crime rate in the middle east is much lower compared to much of the west. I believe that there are both good points and bad points to sharia law.

This how I would punish Muhammed for all his crimes:
First, I would tie him naked to a chair and shave off ALL of his hair.
While he's crying, I would aim a camcorder, linked to a television in front of him, at his bare crotch.
