what did they do there does anyone know - Did they do medieval experiments or nazi style science like trying to bring the dead back or make assassins out of the mental sick - that place really fascinates me especially the beardey man on some other postings or its just like the mental house in psychoville look at that poor bugger at 2mins 54 sec fucking hell - look at him staring at her legs at 3mins 0 2 secs
went there a few weeks ago, so sad to see such a beautiful building just fall to ruin. Wish so much i could have seen it when floors and ceilings were in the right places and stair cases were accesable
I visited the Asylum last year. From the outside only. I spoke to a lady who was walking her dog and she said her Mother used to work there. I hope that lady, whoever she was, watches this and see's her Mother in one of the photo's. Thanks for posting this. Very interesting. Billy. Audlem
Not the County Council, it was the Health Authority. Some wheely-dealers thought they could sell it for a fortune for development, but good people like the Prince of Wales helped stop them (no backhanders there then!!). In the fullness of time it will suffer a mysterious fire and have to be knocked down (cf Leasowe Hall in Wallasey and Wallasey Childrens Hospital & others). Not all the madmen are locked up; come to think of it none of them now are, its all "Care on the Community. Thanks Thatcher.
i agree 2. even tho its privately owned now denbigh should join together and turn this beautifully built hospital into a museum of of its former glory. volunteers and ppl doin community service could provide a fair bit of man power and the owner would only really need to pay for materials and trained builders. i know its easier said than done but its worth trying, the hospital and the castle give denbigh its history. and like amzybeehapi sed it would bring money and jobs to the area.

Probabaly the only reason they haven't knocked the whole thing down is 'cause the front is down as a listed building.
Otherwise they'd have levelled it and built posh houses for (mid-level) middle class people.

they should have made it to a museum not let it go derelict typical county council they would rather spend £37k on a statue that no one sees
