Nicely Done, very original resto-mod and beautiful car! I'm looking at purchasing a 76 mg midget come spring. I have plans running through my mind already! couldn't imagine running a california style top up here in Canada though because of the rainy weather and would be afraid of rust problems until i find somewhere to store it in the winter! It's amazing to see a young guy like yourself undergo a resto like that! I'm 22 myself and hope i can manage restoring the one I buy.
I have heard one that ran with a 275 cam and lightened flywheel in ontario, gave it more of a raspy style TR6 exhaust note with 85hp, all in all a gorgeous car though. How hard was it to do the striping. I would like to run a charcoal and black outlined british style single stripe down the hood of mine eventually, Its a factory red likewise. my goal is to have it emulate a 60's full competition mg race car with the top yet still keep it running nimble. post some driving videos please :)
@a0522625 Well Thank you.. The little Car can be a lot of fun.. Its sad to say but i am thinking about selling it. Just never drive it and my efforts are elsewhere! Thanks again
Well i never thought of doing that so i would have to think about it for a while.. The only concern i have is that the back of the car is already so short that it may be hard to make it look really clean! Let me look and think a little. I guess it would look pretty crazy!
Got a crazy question for you. If you were to remove rear axle and put a center rear motorcyle swing arm (rev. Trike it). My mental picture is rear wheel inside trunk and reshape the rear body. How would you vision the rear to be (body wise) behind the seats. Sorta Wedge look (cut trunk bonnet in Triangle and swing finders inward creating wedge? or round it off.. semi circle-is back end? Bob it?
o yea.. did you know that there is a certain way to close the bonnet? i didnt and i was thankful i ran across this video... other wise i would have screwed my bonnet all up. umm look up how to close an mg bonnet on youtube. Sorry if you already knew this just trying to save some headaches lol..
That's a great looking custom Midget! You should be very proud of your work. I have a '79 and I'd like to take the bumpers off. Your car will be my inspiration.
i really think thats the finest custom midget i have seen. we gotta start a custom mg midget club man. with my crazy rat rod midget and your shiny hot rod midget.

follow up on below post..... as an example here is a Mini Cooper Trike. My vision is to use less of bike... and cover the rear wheel with body work.
