  • Holy Cow! My older brother had this record, it was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid. Thousand thanks for posting it...

  • Whaaaat? I can't believe I found this. My guitar mentor was in this band. He's now a great blues guitarist in the band Cloud William, based in Long Island, NY. Thanks for posting!

  • @edgeyp12 vic canone?

  • @68enxy yea, but he goes by Cloud William now. Where are you from? My band often tours :)

  • @edgeyp12 Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. About half way between Green Bay (Packers) and Milwaukee (Beer), at the bottom of Lake Winnebago!

  • @68enxy Oh cool. Are there any good places to play around there?

  • @edgeyp12 What kind of music do you do? There are some bars that hire bands and the is one small hall that has concerts, but that's about it. Population is only about 36,000.

  • @68enxy We play boot-stomping garage rock and roll and blues. Maybe we can set something up with a local band?

  • my step dad Richard Fishbaugh wrote this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • JR,

Thanks a million for posting my recording. You've allowed me to share it with friends all over. It's incredible that there is still interest in that tune. I wish I could record it again, now. I'd do it a lot differently.

  • great song............and to Larry Jack, the lead singer, great vocals;

  • The singer of this and all other Epic Splendor recordings is Paul Misarti, now residing in Tampa, FL. He recorded "A little Rain" and "Cowboys & Indians" at Regent Sound Studios on 57th St., NY NY in the early fall of 1967.

  • More information on its WMCA chart history:

    11/22/67 - Long Shot

    11/29/67 - #32

    12/06/67 - #29

    12/13/67 - #40

  • Ha! What a great find! I owned a 45 of this song, but ended up giving away most of my 45s to a friend. Wish I had kept it. I heard it on WMCA New York, when they used to have a playlist of 57 songs (not counting recurrents and oldies)! I'm happy to hear it again.

On the Billboard charts it entered on 12/16/67, peaking at #87 and lasting 7 weeks on the top 100.

  • Wow. Before finding this vid, I thought I was the only person on the planet to have a copy of that song. Thanks for posting it.

  • I still remember the first time I ever heard this great song. I was driving home about 2 am and half asleep, heard a DJ named Jim Horne on KDKA in Pittsburgh play the tune and it woke me right up! haven't heard it since so it's wonderful to hear it on Youtube after all this time.

  • Awesome! You have to go back that far to get great a sound like that. This little gem struggled in the charts back then it entered #100 and stayed 2 weeks then went up to # 96 then # 93 stood put there another 2 weeks then #87 for 2 weeks again then collapsed Great unique addition
