Ah, that's a different story! Can you lie with your head slightly elevated and press your thumbs, then a small sand or seed-filled eye pillow over your eyes and forehead? This will help stimulate your pituitary gland, and also lead to more focus. Also, Sing the OM or a healing chant like OM MANI PADME HUM for 25 minutes---the vibration has been shown to be incredibly healing at that time duration, for tumors even--I think it could really help you.
@sadienardini Hi Sadie, I would like to discuss few things with regards to yoga. I am new to this and overweight ... hope u can help me shed those extra kilos off my body
Could you possibly quickly explain the concept of "detoxification" in the way that you're mentioning it? I, of course, have heard about detoxifying the body with fasts - detoxing from substances, alcohol, meat, etc. But, I'm not sure about "detox" in this context?? Help!?
Great video, as usual. I love the 'every day' setting vids - as well as the yoga studio ones. These just make yoga seem accessible to a total rookie. Good starting places..
Hi there! Great question...and thanks for the compliments!:) Your body has lymphatic fluid, in vessels, like blood, only the fluid is what takes toxins out of our body. There is no pump for the lymph system, like the heart for blood, so one of the best ways to get the fluid moving back up to the chest where it's processed and toxins are eliminated is to go upside down! We're usually standing or lyig down, so inversions get the lower part of the body to detox too. Hope this helps! xoSadie
Thanks! It's a good thing to know about your body, so if you're ever feeling tired, sick or unfocused, inverting your body is the quick way to rebalance. I call it the Coffee Replacer, though that might be going a little too far;)
I'm trying to learn more self-care lately. I will be 29 this week and I have a bit of a chronic neck problem from a car accident. I have been taking really good care of myself in the last year, especially, but I do often feel unfocused and sort of floating. Looking around for things like yoga to ground me. Also thinks to tell myself, like mantras, if you will. So far, so good. :)
For you, since you hurt your neck, doing inversions is crucial to give you back a focus in your mind, and get the emergy moving through your neck, but you don't want to put your head on the floor like in headstand. May I ask what the injury is? For now, do legs-up-the-wall pose [in the WALL WORKOUT video] and the Waterfall Warrior and Temple Poses from my other vids. Also Pigeon Pose with your forehad on a block. Try OM GUM GANAPATEEYAY NAMAHAH as a Mantra--grounding.
I have to be really careful, Sadie, because I also (the doctor and specialist think it's related to the neck injury - which was a slow healing muscle TEAR ouch! and whiplash thus spasms and pain through to my shoulder and sometimes headaches) I also have a small aneurysm. Ugh. No hanging upside down allowed for me at all. So, I am being gentle with myself and getting bi-weekly scans to check on the progress of shrinking the aneurysm - which is between my skull and brain.
I like the way she sits on the couch :) You are really fabulous Sadie.

Thanks for this video. That was nice doing yoga on a couch. Do you think you can do a video showing how to do yoga from a chair? Thanks again.
