Would that be distracting to have next to you while gaming? I am thinking of purchasing some for my case, and my PC is about a foot away from my face. Any input?
well, most gaming pc's are around the size where they should be put on the floor, and thats the best spot for them, considering heat rises. but you have to be incredibly focused if you plan to do anything on your pc with a bunch of light in them in your condition
Oh wait, I just remembered something. I was wondering if these were distracting because of that lightning looking thing in the tube. I thought they would be.
yo dude...i have a problem..i want to install more lights and neons on my unit..but the problem is my PSU is only 350watts...can it hold up?its just a couple of neon lights and fans...help..
that could be very risky. about a month ago i upgraded my cpu, got a new motherboard and some new ram without thinking of my psu. my computer literally blew up. luckily only my psu fried and nothing else but it blew up because i didnt have enough power. so i upgraded from a 420 watt to a 700.
i am just starting so i dont know whats the best... i just put a 545 watt MIOS PSU and i was wondering how many lights and fans i could add without damaging it, help would be appreciated.
ya thanks man, but just to tell anyone out there, NEVER by a mios psu bcause they are shit. mine worked in my pc for about one week and now nothing...
Can you connect it to make it audio activated?

The computer is also at a 45 degree angle my left. I found that I don't seem to even care about it when I'm gaming. So I just might get these lights.

Bad idea. You'll stare at it too long and you'll be head shotted. :P

It couldn't be liquid.

Modern liquid neons are _the_ thing. At least for me! Some facts to keep in mind:
Cold cathode = ~no heat.
The input voltage of the inverter is 12V 3W or so, you need not worry about how your PSU handles these if you're not already at the limit.
The acrylic casings of today seem rather sturdy so I'd say it's VERY unlikely they'd break in normal use/installation/etc.
They're mostly very easy and self explanatory to install.
Awesome looks boost with affordable price tag! (7-16$/€)

sabbays 4 years ago
On 545W's? A shit lot. You don't realise CCFL's don't use that much power at all. At best they'll use about 5-10watts and minimal amp/volt usage.
