Hi, I don't know if you found a job yet, but if you haven't, you might want to do things a bit defferently. I remember the first job I had in July 2001, my papers were not changed yet, as they changed legally in Nov. 2003, and yet,I was able to work, but I would not tell my future employers that I was trans. I would apply with the name I wanted to be refered to and provide them with my social security number which was not changed, only I would not show them the card and they are not supposed
to ask for it. Many employers, especially if it's a low-paying job, won't do background checks, and for the tax on the revenu, it works with the ssn, so, it did not create any problems, apparently. Also, you could try one of those placement agencies or find work in a compagy where the rotation of employees is quite high, like a research market firm, doing surveys, as they don't have the time to check backgrounds. I started working in one of those companies before my papers got changed. I'm
still working there now, as I still need a job where I can have a flexible schedule, considering I still needs surgeries or revisions, and so it's easier to take time off and deal with recovery periods. Good luck.
