I am curious to know how the actual awards function film is made. I have heard these are not live like any grammy or emmy. All the performances are recorded beforehand and even the speeches of the hosts and then the recordings are played in front og the audience. When we see audience reacting, it is not even neccassary that they are recting to those particular scenes which we the viewers are watching. They are stock shots. Amazing bollywood film industry. can someone correct me if i am wrong.

@anitarattan1956 M afraid thats not ture at all. In actual awards are live but they are not telecast live on tv. Special effects, accidents, uncalledfor incidents, mistakes (rarely) are erased out from the final broadcast.I have no idea what are your sources. Although m damn sure this is exactly how it goes.

@sdkaaas I have heard it takes two to three days for award function ceremony to take place. It´s not like normal award function where people come just once on red carpet and spend five hours in a hall and it´s over. People come and go and come next day again.

Only the extras are trained dancers capable of performing without a cut but heroes and heroines need several cuts in a single song performance. it is not a big deal for film actors to be wearing same cloths repeatedly specially when they have to do anyway for shooting their film scenes.

But even so why can't they be live performances? The actors and actresses would have lots of practice beforehand obviously...what about all the live theatre events do you think that they are also pre filmed or something...so it is possible for the actors to do live dances.

Shahrukh is awesome, it's true, award functions ain't complete without Him.. Maybe some of the Indian audience thought his jokes were cheap but I ain't Indian and I loved it! Really hope Rohit Shetty chooses Vidya Balan for Chennai Express!! She's beautiful and totally not fat!! She might not be Katrina but she's definitely hot!
